ya the difference is , a good college b-ball team brings in millions and millions of dollars to a school, where as watching the majority of white guys hump eachother is fucking boring as fuckin and doesnt really do shit for a school.

Anyone supporting this trend, and then adding "I wrestled for x number of years" should have any and all affiliation with the sport of wrestling stripped immediately and never mentioned again.
Isn't too strange that the key term is "wrestled" and not "wrestle."
Actually, maybe someone on this thread will have some insight on this. Why hasn't NCAA promoted women's wrestling? Our university system in Canada has both men's and women's wrestling and the sport has only increased in popularity.
I love how the uninformed always make Title IX the scapegoat when a school drops a fringe sport.
Wow this is ridiculous, I can't believe I go to a stupid school like this... I know a couple kids on the team too so it is kinda shocking that I hadn't heard of this yet

According to NCAA stats, 90% or more of Division I athletic departments lose money. As recently as 2005, only 22 of 313 programs made money. And this isn't because of softball.
jj... i dont know the NAIA guidelines, but i am very sure that if they cant do it via NAIA that they can do it via club sport rules....
Wow, sad if true I remember getting beat soundly by Dan St. John of ASU at the Pac Tens, some 20 years ago. They had a fantastic program and Bobby Douglas was a great coach at the time. I haven't followed them much since.

They had just won the NCAA Tournament the year before and Dan had gone through the entire season without suffering a takedown. He was even featured in SI, the entire state was into wrestling.

I don't know shit about American college wrestling, but I thought NCAA 2008 D1 finals were really exciting to watch.

Actually the NCAA is just the governing body and they could give a rats ass. However, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) attempted this very strategy in the 90's as part of the strategy to save our sport. TJ Kerr the CS Bakersfield coach developed a multi prong strategy as the NWCA President and the womens teams were a huge part of that. Unfortunately it never caught on at a rate that made it an equal opportunity sport under Title IX.
My question is why hasn't Title IX been reshaped or recrafted???It has nearly made our spot extinct.
I think it is all part of the pussification of America. Men are being wiped out. Sure some people will still have dicks in the future but they will be hardly a fraction of a man.
