Authority Figure - $100K is a lot for one man to shoulder per training camp. No matter what he makes. He still has to pay taxes. In Brazil a $1Million Dollars is taxed at a rate of 27.5%.
So "if" he made $1 Million, he actually netted $725,000 minus $100,000 sparring partners. Then subtract "whatever" for his coach salaries, mainstay sparring partners, gym assistants, personal assistant (probably a family member), equipment needs, food and water on training days, etc. No one really knows, but I'd figure he still walked away with $600,000 - "if" you're "Million with PPV cut" is accurate.
Bottom line. They get paid. And they pay out a lot. If they are on the undercard, they certainly get paid much much less and pay out a disproportionate amount because some expenses are fixed/unmovable.
I don't get why people get angry when others are dissatisfied with what fighters get? None of you are upset when someone you care about says "you should be earning more". You say "you know what, you're right." Lighten up or at best, let people have their opinions. Dana doesn't give a fuck about anyone you, on either side of the discussion. lol
^ let's not forget the sponsorship deals Vitor being the most famous face of MMA in Brazil. Yep, more than Anderson.

Vitors management have even secured a deal with Jesus. The man is on a roll.
I didn't consider that. He probably made another $20-70K in sponsorships. I haven't heard anything in the news or seen any new ads on his apparel or signage to suggest he's making six figure income from Brazilian corporations yet. All in all, he "may" have walked away with $600-625K after taxes and expenses.
FedorEmilioEstevez - That was the worst fight on the card IMHO
You're way off. Watching AJ lose was the highlight of the card.
sevr1 - Belfort needs to go to ATT. It'll save him some big $$.
so you know how their pro fighter contracts work? interesting.. what kind of percentage would he be looking at?
they posted a thread a while back about lowering the percentage they take. i think they used to take a 10% mgmt fee and 10% training fee. now they have dropped it to just 5% for both. iirc. whitch seems awesome.
Allowing steroids turns the sport into a comple joke.
Then you get into a financial war in terms of who can buy the best performance enhancers. So, fuck that too.
Steroids in my opinion are good for sports especially baseball, if only they didn't have this taboo they gained in the 80's, people don't die from steroids like its made to be seen, look at good ole governor Arnold he's not dead.
The contest then turns into who has the most athletic ability AND who has the best pharmacist.
Maybe, but right now it's who has the most athletic ability AND who has the best coaches and training partners and S&C guys and nutritionists and the money and time to fly around the world to train with and benefit from all those different people...AND probably also the best pharmacist anyway -- but the more privileged guys probably get the better stuff and better bullshit "exemptions" to get away with it.
Everything is ALREADY a "financial war", most guys can't have Mike Dolce live with them and cook all their meals for two months while jetting around to roll with Marcelo Garcia and spar with Ernesto Hoost. As far as PEDs go it would be MORE of a level playing field if they were legal and allowed.

Arnold would be dead or at least closer to it if it wasnt for his ability to afford top notch Dr's to repair his damaged heart a while back
What does that have to do with his steroid use? Can you reference the medical study where steroids have been associated with increased rates of cardiovascular disease?
I'm not even asking for a causal link. Has there ever even been a correlation?

This whole discussion makes you wonder what GSP pays per training camp? Right when he got injured one of the things he was instantly commenting on was the amount of cash he effectively lost by training for Diaz.
He flies all around North America to train with the absolute best and he frequently has Firas travelling with him. It must cost him $500k+ per camp?

The 100 K was for guys he brought in.
Not for his trainers and camp.
He brought in 7 guys, at 12 weeks, that is only a little over a grand a week.

Doubtful.
I don't think GSP brings in 35guys for over 3 months for a camp.
Belfort's 100k cost was bring in 7 people for 3 months.
That is only a little over 1K a week for each guy.
I've never heard of GSP bringing in 30 dudes for 3 months (your 500K figure)
Though I am sure he does bring guys in, I doubt he pays for that many out of camp guys.
Thats alot of money! But dont forget Vitor flew out his trainrs to Brazl 2 weeks before the fight. So that probably includes travel, boarding, food, etc. He has a big team also

All of the expenses you listed are 100% tax deductions. So you don't first tax him on a million dollars, you first deduct all the expenses and then tax on what's remaining. This isi basic stuff that anyone with a long form filing should know.
UncleDavid - btw im highly doubting that vitor made a million dollars on a card that didnt really sell alot of ppvs, where he was "only" co-main event as well
