A lot of people don't have FUEL and lol at comparing Bellator's big and only station in Spike to the UFC's 3rd channel for free televised events that Fuel does. FX and Spike are more comparable

PrettyBoy -

UFC does 800k viewers last seasons TUF = Fox is happy as fuck you guys don't know what ratings mean.

Bellator does 800k viewers = Can't build stars Viacom must quit MMA Phone Post

that's friday night... and the only guy saying fox was happy was Dana white.  Fox just placed it on a dead night.

Spike is using their best lead in (tna) to push bellator and they are pulling a 0.2 or less in adults 18-49 with their flagship product.  even at 800k viewers tuf was pulling decent demo numbers.  the lowest tuf got while being buried on friday nights in the adult 18-49 demo was a .4

Do you think Bellator should pull the plug a couple months?

Businesses take time to get up and running. You were under the impression Bellator was going to do 1 million+ views in the first couple shows?

Its insane to even try to conclude that bellator doesnt have star power a couple shows. Of course they dont yet. Its a given. Why would King Mo be a star so soon? It takes time.

Trying to from a solid point so early in on a product is chicken little syndrome.

no... i dont think they should pull the plug after a few months, nor will they.

they still have the reality show.  if that doesnt work then they'll pull the plug.

yeah you can compare it to FX instead of fuel then as well its not that much better for such a well established company like the UFC:

http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2012/12/ufc-on-fx-6-ratings-main-card-prelims-fall-below-average

the recent UFC on FX 7 did a rating: 1.8 million

But still the numbers for bellator are quite good for a no name company vs an organization thats been around for 2 decades.

It is a bit late... 10 to 12pm EST,

liquidrob - MMALOGIC said Bellator was dead a year ago, now he gives them 3 years, regular crystal ball that guy is a tell ya

i never said they were dead... I said if nobody buys bellator they will be dead.  and guess what happened? viacom bought bellator.

The reason I said that was because the private equity that owned a majority stake in bellator was in trouble with the FCC and agreed to liquidate all their assets (bellator being one of them) within a certain time frame.

Fuel is in 36 million homes compared to 100 mill on Spike.

Fuel events mostly air in the afternoon or morning, not 10pm following a big show like TNA Impact.

Just saying, did anyone compare UFC on Fox events to Bellator on MTV 2? and MTV 2 was in 70-80 million homes.

I agree Spike is in more households but Bellator is a relative no name in the mma world right now. They are just getting started.

Why do people expect they would they be doing huge numbers so soon? UFC had some terrible shows and TUF seasons on spike too. not like they shut it down and left.

This week's card was great though, and no title fight. Should be 800k or more next week no problem. Phone Post

^ they're gonna keep trying!?!  do you know how many shows they cancel? do you know how many products have come and gone off spike.

if the reality show doesnt work it's over.

What are TNA ratings?

well they did leave haha but spike told them to take a hike. not saying that is was a good idea but viacom wanted to make their own product to make more cash.

fight4right -
BRZ - Could also be its on too late for a Thursday night. 8-10 would be better. Phone Post

8 would be way better but they would lose TNA lead in Phone Post

Maybe but it's not like TNA is helping much. They don't have the WWE name. I know Spike is trying to make Thursday night into some kind of fight night type thing. Phone Post

no they will keep going.

this is Viacom's pet project. Spike didnt kick out UFC and their millions for no reason. Its a big decision to undertake something that large for a network. THey have to believe in their product to let go a company that large in the ufc.
