Don’t count. To be the champ, you have to beat the champ. Did people call him the #1 LW when he won that belt? No. Interim belt = #1 contender. The title of “champion” can’t be stripped, only taken by beating the champ.
For example, regardless of who has the belt at 205, everyone knows the true LHW champ is jones.
If jones came back to LHW to fight the current champ, even though jones is technically the challenger, everyone knows the current champ is the real challenger

Conors win over aldo exceeds everything Dustin did. Dustin was at 145 and couldn’t get it done. Even against Eddie, conor finished him with ease while Dustin needed 2 fights to beat him. Both fights were wars.
Conor simply fell off after the Floyd fight. He was no longer the same fighter
I’m not particularly a fan of either, but Conor’s 13 second ko of Aldo, who hadn’t lost in 10 years and was one of the most dominant champions ever, is better than anything Dustin has done. Obviously Dustin is the better person, and currently the better fighter, but Conor has the best win between the two.
