i have been prescribed beta blockers for anxiety and high blood pressure...i workout 5-6 days a week and i notice that my performance doesnt always seem to be as intense as it might should be..it seems to have lost a little spark..beta blockers are great for what they are scribed for but when it comes to working out or playing sports, do they help or hinder performance?
Yes they do and they are actually very bad in high intensity environments. They decrease your heart rate sometimes at the expense of supplying your body oxygen at the rate needed. It decreases cardiac output when high output is need. It's great for people at rest or mild aerobic activity but bad for any other type of high heart rate activity.
im gonna have to get off them then...thx..
