We've all seen the threads about fighters who are well known for being very fan-friendly, like Wand and Tito, what about fighters who are known to be not so fan friendly?
My vote goes for Tyson Griffin.
Cung Le and Bas Rutten were not friendly at all today at IMMAE. Jake Shields and Jamie Varner were two of the nicest guys you could meet.
I dont think I've ever seen an MMA fighter turn down an autograph or picture request. Saw one do it when he was sitting down to dinner with his family but the person who requested it deserved to be shot down. Who asks for an autograph when someone is eating?
Before somebody says Brock based on his "in ring" pesrona, Brock in person is cool as shit.
And x2 for Tito. Real humble guy

Dang, fans love Bas so much, that sucks to hear

Tyson seems to just always be in a pissy mood, when I see him at XC, or softball games when his girl plays.
I tried to greet him once, I even waited until he was done training, I try to say hi and he just kind of looked at me in a very snobbish way and kept walking.
everyone ive met has been super nice, none have turned down a photo or autograph. sylvia (he gets a lot of shit, but really hes very nice and talkative), joe lauzon, militich, and yvel were the nicest ive met. the only one whoever seemed just a tad annoyed was jay heiron but he had just finished weighing in so i dont blame him.
I've probably had the pleasure of meeting about 150 fighters and the ones that stick out in my head are
Tim Sylvia
Kevin Randleman
Rampage
The nicest have been
Urijah Faber
Miguel Torres
Josh Barnett
Gabriel Gonzaga

Depends. If its a kid, I say you sign it no matter what. Kid was probably terrified to even speak to you, let alone balls up to ask for one. Gonna be too star struck to be thinking straight usually in any case.
If its an adult, you are totally right, fuk him. Damn fool should know better.
Bisping and Rashad
Met Andre Galvao at the Mundials and asked for a picture but he denied me. It was understandable because he was with his 3 year old daughter.

I don't know about Cung Le, but I met Bas Rutten at a UFC show a few years ago and he was friendly.
I heard Cung interviewed a few weeks ago, he seems all sensitive at the fan hate regarding his inactivity. I wonder if this factored in.

Well, that wasn't the case today, sorry to disappoint.
For what it's worth, Anderson Silva, Shane Carwin, Chael Sonnen and Nate Quarry were great at the autograph signing on Friday in Portland. All 4 went out of their way to finish signing autographs for the people that got cut off at 3pm. All 4 talked to fans, asked their names, smiles, shook hands, nothing I've ever seen at an autograph signing of pro athletes. I've seen athletes charge $25-50 for an autograph and act like total and complete fucking assholes. This was free and these guys were all class.
for the record... tyson is really really really shy. he can't get used to the fame part of the sport. he once told me his goal in mma was to be a world champion but have no one recognize him. awesome guy and a better friend. but he isn't being a jerk in person, he is just uncomfortable with his status. he doesn't live for the limelight.
some fighters you think are super awesome and fan friendly... are really huge cocksuckers to people in real life. they just care about the fan perspective of them.
