Bisping jabs Weidman, declaring he’s NOT one of the middleweight greats

Bisping declared that Weidman is not even in the conversation….
of Middleweight all-time greats!

He includes the “STILL MY BOY” video clip of Weidman Senior. :joy:

Obvious statement is obvious.

MMA is fucked where every other guy who sniffs a title is somehow a “GOAT”.

Weidman had a massive win beating the most dominant MW of all time at the end of his run when he was 38 years old. Then won again on a freak injury.

Including the Weidman fights Silva went 1-7-1 after his final title defence.

Weidman was a champ and ended an amazing historic run. Big accomplishments.

He sure as fuck isn’t in any conversation of being an all time great MW.

Bisping is correct.

His 2 best wins were Machida and Belfort. Idc about his wins against Anderson honestly. Specially the second one

He finished Anderson who was on a 17 fight win streak and you don’t know about that win being one of, if not his best?

Congrats on the absolute dumbest post of the day.

Weidman was great and should be regarded highly for what he did to Anderson who was unbeatable at the time.

BUT beating Anderson doesn’t make him automatically a GOAT contender. Not even close.

Chris needed to put together a run better than beating a shop-worn Vitor and Machida after beating Anderson, and instead he lost viciously to pretty much every one of his contemporaries in a row (e.g. Rockhold, Romero, Mousasi).

Post-USADA, perhaps? Seems like Chris was exposed, but since he never popped, only he knows the truth.

Exactly. You can have a great carrer yet not be in the GOAT talks.

Anderson was fooling around that’s the only reason why Weidman got a ko and why he has some legacy. He has 0 legit wins over Anderson.

Agree with Mike. Weidman a solid MW but not particularly memorable.

First fight Silva got caught while acting like a jackass

Second fight Silva breaks his leg

Plus Weidman was on hella PEDs at the time

Weidman was very vocal about Cheator Belfort’s PED usage.
During their fight week, he said Vitor is still a cheater at the weigh-in.

What a hypocrite and a phony!

He was acting like a jackass because Weidman wasn’t letting him do anything else, except for the odd leg kick.

In the rematch, Weidman even turned that against him after training a technique specifically intended to break the opponent’s leg when they kicked him. So Anderson had nothing at all in the rematch.

It wasn’t a couple of flukes. It was complete domination.

“Last fight the one thing that he really, you know ah, capitalized on was leg kicks. So, probably the most important thing that we focused on for this fight camp was stopping his leg kicks. Ah, so Ray Longo, ah he’s actually broke a guy’s leg in training using it, what he calls “The Destruction”, which is knee, knee-on-shin. So, when he goes to kick, you put your knee on their shin.

Trained to do it, did it. No fluke there.

Bisping is a warrior and a hard man, to be sure. He fought with one fucking eye. His accomplishments can never be diminished. He also seems to be a petty cunt.

You’re a well known Anderson Silva hater so nothing you say is of value lol

It’s interesting because you would that think that a guy who won the middleweight title and successfully defended it 3 times against Silva, Machida and Belfort would naturally be part of the conversation.

However his record after the introduction of USADA is shocking and raises questions.

For me one of the greats wouldn’t have 7 losses from his last 9 fights starting when he was just 31 so I would personally agree with Bisping here.
