Is there any evidence to consider switching the gloves? Other orgs using different gloves with nobpok3s happening? I find it funny that the few people complaining avout gloves act like the majority of these eye pokes aren’t intentional and just the glove’s fault.
The UFC could easily design better gloves and better padding materials.
It would deal with the wrist issues, possible CTE issues, the grappling problems, and the eye pokes.
I suspect as soon as the CTE becomes more of an issue with them then they will make changes but it would be nice to be proactive if they want to be seen as a major league promotions.
The ufc is a fight promotion. They are not in the sporting equupment business. There are companies who actually do this for livong but you say nothing about them. Instead youbexpect the ufc to open a new business to make new gloves. You then say they can fix cte, grappling and eye pokes.
Out of curiosity. Just from this thread I’ve seen you bring up the “possible CTE issues”. We all know CTE is an inherent risk of being a fighter, but as far as glove design is concerned, is there something you have in mind that would potentially be safer in terms of head trauma? I don’t know of a design that makes the sport safer, but I also haven’t looked at any data. Unless you’re referring to something like what parts of the glove are padded, or perhaps padding material.
Ahhhh okay cool. Yeah I know what you mean and it’s one of the things Wittman has talked about in his design. Bellator and PFL gloves certainly seem to have a higher quality of material. Not sure about ONE but it seems like it. Century is literally the worst company to go with.
Im one of the fee people trying to actually discuss your topic, but ill leave you alone to spend another year bumping your own thread trting to get some interest.
