This is what I'll be telling Jupes come Oct. 24th.
I knew a guy in college who hitched all his dreams to a star. Much like you are doing. That star was a cheerleader named Beatrice. It turns out that Beatrice didn't actually exist. She was an illusion caused by a low pressure system, a pair of football uprights and exceptional solar activity.
My point is that the poor boy isn't with us anymore.
He's somewhere in Iowa.
I'd hate to see that happen to you, after all this pressure for success that you're shoveling upon yourself.
When you fail, and you will most certainly fail, it will help if you: 1) have a support network (that exists in real life), 2) start seeing a mirage for what it is (a mirage), and 3) lower your expectations closer to reality (zero).
