this is how you restore a brown leather jacket

the guy’s voice and tone is funny

Gotta love Don's comment on the video there. He just did his job.

Cool

Wow, if you click on that video, you'll see Don Wilson vs Branco Cikatic as a suggetion. I thought Don was just an actor. The guy was a real deal.

yeah its interesting that 90 percent of people

that heard of him

just think he is an actor

the guy was a good unorthodox fighter

this is a pretty violent movie he is in

Wilson is one of the all time great American kickboxers and a pioneer of kickboxing in America, having been there right from the start. Definitely not just an actor, he was a legit fighter.

He also fought full Thai rules 5 times in Thailand and Hong Kong. Winning 4 of those fights against the Thais, despite never having trained in Muay Thai, but fought a good amount of his career under WKA (International/low kick) rules.

He might have done pretty well in the earlier UFC’s too with his college wrestling background and striking skills. He was never any kind of “NCAA champion” or anything like that in wrestling, but he knew how to wrestle.

Weird.  I see nothing but Poker, and JRE suggested videos.

Wow, Pakistani guy was waayyyy of his league. Talk about a step up for him from can crushing in the middle east.

yes way to many people think of him of just an actor in movies like i posted

he had everything you mentioned and also had a rep as on the street as a good fighter

he also had a pretty unusual style

switched from normal to side stances a lot

Wilson was legit. A great football player in high school with a wrestling background before he ever studied the Martial Arts. Competed in the blood and guts era of American Karate, which was a lot rougher than what we see now. He was also a VERY good boxer. Great hands.  He beat both Alexio and Murice Smith

I met him a few times, he is also much bigger in person.

That was a great fight, he took everything Cikatic threw at him those first 2-3 rounds and then executed his gameplan. He even overcame some illegal blows by Cikatic , very satiffying ending to that fight.

he always had those wipping kind of punches

which pack some power

Don was one of the first people I remember watching kickbox on TV as a kid. I fell in love with that first before boxing, then MMA came along. He teased fighting MMA rules at one point, but never ended up doing it. He was past him prime at the time, but then he made a kickboxing comeback in 99. He beat a young Dewey Cooper during that period too. Don also owns a win over big name trainer Mike Winklejohn. I would have loved to see him in the early UFCs.

1987 Don put in UFC 1, would of KOed Royce and not get suckered into the ground.

Really liked him in Young Guns
