“I was so happy. I texted him, I said, ‘Go show that boy what it’s all about because he’s out here talking all that mess.’ At the end of the day, it’s not about what letters you fight for, what alphabet you fight for,” Coker said. "At the end of the day, you’re either a great fighter or you’re not, and ‘MVP’ is a great fighter.

“He’s one of my most favorite athletes as a fighter because he can do things that you just can’t do. How many people can do what he does? To knock out the people he’s knocked out and the way he’s done it,” Coker continued. “Sure, he’s had some losses along the way, but everyone loses in this sport… This guy is so talented. I’m happy he got a win. He’s now able to show his skills to a different audience, but I saw this guy 10 years ago and was blown away by things he was doing 10 years ago.”

Looks like Coker is going more of a build from the ground up approach with this promotion with a lot of local talent and amateurs compared to Bellator taking the old names approach.

I’ve seen a lot of these guys fight before locally but the biggest name is probably Mauricio Alonso who hasn’t fought in 5 years when he knocked Koscheck out in his last fight and then went the distance with Eblen both in Bellator. Other than him most are younger up and coming fighters. The guy he is fighting I just saw get knocked out a couple weeks ago in the LFA…

I do like the mix of Amateur/Pro and MMA/Muay Thai fights on the same Card. Should be a good time. Not sure if the Collard in the Main Event is related to Clay.

Anyone have any results. The stream option I saw was called out as a farmers by the fighter I train with who was on the card. I’m on est time so I think she is still sleeping and haven’t seen anyone post about her fight yet.

Yeah I went it was fun card and good turn out for an Inaugural show. I was going to post some pics and thoughts later when I get back but I can probably tell you the result if it was on the Pro fights. There were a ton of amateur fights too.

agreed. Its a great arena and the SJ fans used to be die hards with AKA based out of there.

I was fortunate to have a buddy work for the arena and would always get prime seats for alot of strikeforce events. Last event I went there for was Shogun vs Hendo 1
