Condit shouldn't be 'allowed' to wait for GSP

He only got his title shot after Diaz fucked up. So Condit should have fought Kos at the PPV instead.

I still dont see Condit as the 'top contender' to the belt, Right now GSP has already beaten the top 4 guys (Fitch, Sheilds, Kos & Penn) So I'd like to see some fights between these guys to figure out the next opponent. With Diaz & Condit in the mix, there should be plenty of exciting fights to come.

Other top WW's are on the fringe of being in the top 5. Fighters like Ellenberger, Sanchez, Rumble, Rory MacDonald, Kampmann etc ...

I thought this m8 it's stupid Phone Post

Force him to fight Kos on short notice, with a different opponent that he had trained for, possibly eliminating a possible contender from the picture... I dont need to see GSP v. KOS 3 Phone Post

Love watching Condit fight but i agree with Jack.

What's the point in fighting Kos? Kos is never getting another title shot unless someone other than GSP has the belt.

yes he should,and is

Condit and Diaz will hopefully make it into a brawl with GSP which is why everyone wants to see those two fight him. If GSP doesn't LnP them those are two fights that could result in fireworks. Condit has paid his dues and beaten a lot of tough competition. He deserves the shot and Diaz should get next if he beats BJ.

Isn't Condit the #5 or #6 guy? Diaz lost his chance, GSP has already beaten the majority of the rest of the top ten, including 2,3, and 4....It really doesn't leave many other choices.

Diaz (assuming he beats Penn) and Ellenberger are both more qualified than Condit, IMO.

I don't particularly agree with Diaz being more qualified, and I think Ellenberger is equally qualified, but to each his own.

I think if Diaz wins they should give him the title shot. Condit only got it because Diaz was scared for a week, homie. Phone Post

Pork Sword - You say GSP already beat the guys ahead of Condit yet he shouldn't get a title shot? A 8 day notice Koscheck would have nothing for a title train Carlos anyways. Phone Post

just because GSP has already beaten them DOESN"T put them behind a lesser contender

I've no problem with Condit waiting; it's only gonna be a couple of months. George is gonna take him down easily and often, so the only real variable is how much Carlos can offer off his back.

Nothing wrong with winner of Diaz/Penn getting a title shot of winner of GSP/Condit? Although, I wouldn't be surprised if winner of Diaz/Penn fights Condit as the 'new' Title Eliminator match-up.

these types of scenarios are the main problem...Diaz facing BJ is already a potential issue of this type.

I agree. Condit deserved the title shot under the circumstances, but if GSP is out for a couple weeks/months, Condit should fight someone else in the meantime. It's not like he's the obvious #1 contender or anything. He's A contender, but that's all. The winner of Diaz-Penn is at least as deserving, so make Condit prove himself.

TheSaver - From a fighter's perspective it's a smart move what the fuck does he gain beating Kos?

Um, how about
- a paycheck
- respect
- experience
etc

It's not about what he has to gain, but what he has to lose.

This is glaringly illogical. If he beats GSP he becomes the champion and the amount of money he gets will dwarf a small payday from fighting Kos. Kos is also a nasty fighter and could very well beat Condit which would put Carlos back at square one. That could result in him never getting a title shot at all and instead he'd be fighting for relative beans compared to a GSP fight payday.

He had absolutely nothing to gain by fighting Koscheck. The Natural Born Killer has a kid to feed.

Condit/Diaz would be a FOTY candidate, I want that to happen somehow

then against Diaz/Penn could be a FOTY candidate too

I agree with everything you say, but I still stand by what I said, that it's primarily about what's at stake for Condit if he lost.

For a professional fighter, every fight (especially one that would even be the main event) is a win in a way. That's what pro fighter do, isn't it - fight?
