Cuban on Jim Rome

TTT for Dallas becoming the new home of MMA!

Cuban is 100 times the business man that Dana is, and his pockets run very deep. The guy bought the Mavericks because he is a fan, not to make money.

Hes turned the Mavs into one of the NBA's wealthiest franchises just because he has fun with it.

AND THATS STILL NOT WHERE HE GETS THE MAJORITY OF HIS MONEY FROM!!!

ttt for competition

goes out and buys an HD TV

Mark Cuban is much more than a ruthless businessman with an Uncle Scrooge-like vault full of gold which he is willing to throw at anything and everything. I've read his blog at blogmaverick.com and the guy just really wants to grow the sport. The guy acknowledges that he is in a very special spot in the world where he can do genuinely great things with his money. If he can promote the sport of MMA to NBA or NFL-like status, then as fans of the sport, we should all support him and his endeavors.

mark cuban is a smart business man, he knows what he's doing. 2 years ago he was pushing HD on the Rome show, saying it was the next big thing.

HD wasn't a new concept two years ago. People have been hyping it since the late 90's. Heck, I started selling HD tv's five years ago and they were big at the time, just more expensive, and very few flat panels were available.

Cuban is worth over $2 billion, I'd give him a good shot at making the UFC look like Double A baseball.

Best of luck to Cuban...good for the sport!

Cuban spends the most on his players, and in turn he has the most loyal fans with the biggest pocketbooks in the NBA. He promotes his team and players like no other owner.

If he can translate that into MMA he'll be the top dog. Believe me, this is the one guy Zuffa doesn't want to compete with. Not because he's a business genius, or because he's gonna have a stellar lineup, but because he has deep pockets, he will put on big shows, he will create stars, and he will compensate every fighter well, from the stars to the fillers. If Cuban is serious, the UFC will be forced to up their game.

lol...Cuban can't even win an NBA title, but he's gonna take a sport over that he's been watching since TUF...OK.

Mark Cuban is not Dana White, nor is he associated with the UFC in any way. Therefore, I do not like him.

lol

"Y'all are blind if you think he's in it for the fighters."

youre blind if you think being for the fighters is a bad business strategy

I never said being for the fighters was bad strategy. I said it's blind to think Cuban is in it for the fighters. It's pure business. Again, just another rich boy who thinks he can buy himself out of any situation and buy into anything he wants.

Deep pockets do not equate to being a success in anything. It just means you have more to potentially lose. I agree with OriginalTUFer. UFC is heading in the right direction. Purses are getting better, bonuses are as well. The majority of the fighters in the UFC aren't complaining, and most of the big names are satisfied and happy. It's a few pre-madonas that are complaining. cough*Randy, Tito*cough

and Bo checks in...

lmao

the ufc has some stacked cards coming up. they are going nowhere. and no org is close to them

some of you posters are delusional

Damn, lots of ways of looking at this. Bottom line ?

I want all the fighters to be compensated well...but I also want them all in the same organization. Hopefully the Cuban situation will force UFC to make changes and that place.

I bet all the people hating on the UFC in this thread were blind pride nutthuggers back a year or two ago as well right?

Jeeeeeeeez this is typical UG nonsense, Cuban comes up with a interview and everyone thinks ANYTHING is gonna change. The UFC is not goin anywhere and Cuban is gonna have to fork over big $$ and take alot of time/effort to even get a piece of the UFC pie.

LOL @ calling Randy a "pre-madona." Just LOL.

Either way this helps the fighters. I do not like Cuban but him throwing money at them will make the UFC pay better. On a side note Mark R. and one the Zuffa brothers have been served on the AC, in the fight world they would have just the same about of pull.

Hey, I've been a fan of Randy Couture. But his actions as of late have been down right ridiculous. The guy negotiates a contract and less than a year later he's trying to get out of it because he feels he's unfairly compensated. He lets another fighter take his belt, and ducks out of fighting him. He was owned by Dana and company when they showed the paper work and financial records during that press conference, proving basically everything Randy was saying to be untrue.

I'm sorry. Like him or not, it doesn't get much worse.
