Whistleblower, where you at?

Thanks Monster! I was typing you a message and it ended up being too long and wouldn't let me send it. I clicked back to cut it in half and send two messages, but it was all lost! :( So I'll retype it and send it to you.

lol Calling in the big guns? :)

LOL!

LOL, I am beat, no energy.  WB got the response to that post down to a science, ready at the call.  In fact, its probably saved in template form by now, requiring only a cut and paste.

"He also compared the UFC to WWE in that it only promotes it's brand name and not the fighters or the sport as a whole"

I guess having fighters star in popular basic cable reality shows, give them all access specials, promote them endlessly before fights, give them endorsements with other companies the ufc is partnered with, have them star in video games, put them on bilboards in LA and Vegas, etc. is just not enough promotion. Mark Cuban will set that straight by putting them on an expensive tier cable channel and err, umm, other stuff.

I do like what Cuban says though about putting fighters first and not the brand. I think the proof is very evident with how he relates and treats his players on the Mavericks. I wouldn't mind seeing Cuban, Monte Cox and some other investors buy the UFC and run it with that very motto putting the fighters first not the brand.

For starters I'd like for Cuban to buy out Randy's Contract and get on with the Fedor vs Randy fight.

How exactly does the UFC not promote it's fighters? By not giving in to every contract demand? This notion that the UFC is all about the brand and not the fighters seems to be conventional wisdom around here, and I don't see it. All the promos for the UFC I see feature their best fighters. Go to the website, watch the events, watch TUF, it's all promotion of fighters. You guys all sound like Tito.

If they truly put the fighters first don't you think they would have found a way to sign the greatest fighter on the planet in Fedor?

How does "putting fighters first" = signing Fedor? Fedor wants to fight in other orgs, the UFC is not going to INVEST IN AND PROMOTE FIGHTERS FOR OTHER ORGS. Why should the PROMOTE M1 next event?

The ufc promotes the shit out of its fighters, so Tito, Cuban, the UG, stop with the nonsense.

"If they truly put the fighters first don't you think they would have found a way to sign the greatest fighter on the planet in Fedor? "

NO..because his agent owned M1 i believe.  Fedor said the UFC offered the most money...it was those damn Sambo tourneys he had to compete it...lmao.

Mark Cuban is like Ted Turner and his HDFight thing will be like WCW VS WWE and paying huge amounts of money and letting the talent run the show and like WCW drove the wwe out of business..... he'll ..uh... oh wait... never mind

I hope hdnet fights is a great promotion and puts on great fights. I suspect they wont because nobody outside of UFC seems to get this thing right. Dream, M1, IFL, Elitexc, etc etc I hope they all succeed and prosper, the more mma the better. So far they all put on so-so events and (by most accounts) hemmorage money. So we'll see. Mark Cuban (for those that dont follow other sports) does a whole lot of running his mouth, so we'll see. Filing a lawsuit is not impressive and doesnt mean that there is any merit to said lawsuit. Good luck, we'll see.

If they put their fighters first then they would have found a way to appease and satisfy their HW Champion, one of the classiest fighters in the world; thats right Captain America, Randy Couture!!

the UFC made him a millionaire...boo fucking hoo Randy couture.

Kansas Comet, you had me going.

IrishLew, the UFC did not make Randy a millionaire. Without the UFC, Im sure he could have coached wrestling for 35k per year and perhaps with some wise investing he could be worth tens of hundreds by now.

lol

A friend and training partner has fought for Mark and Guy on the two cards so far. I was lucky enough to be in his corner to see just how well taken care of all the fighters were. You guys can speculate all you want but I'll tell you this, Mark cares for the people that work for him.

Shit, the guy walked by thanked me and shook my hand and I'm just some turd that was carrying towel and spit bucket.

He spent his time and money on the Mavs because he loves the sport. Why would you think hes not going to do the same with MMA?

Cuban has to be close to the most disloyal owner in the NBA. Go read how bad he fucked over Nick Van Excel or Nellie. Those aren't isolated incidents.

I couldn't care less who's the 'kingpin'.. As long as I get consistent quality and competitive MMA matches I'm happy.

If he buries UFC and improves MMA - goddamn sweet. If he's yet another fly by nighter looking for some quick cash with no real interest in the future of the sport - then boooooo.

there's a reason Baseball owners will never let him buy a team.  He wants the Cubs, but MLB will never let that happen.
