He's the 400lbs Gorilla, and throws his weight around accordingly. I doubt he means much of what he says about fighters, but does so to gain the negotiating advantage.
Double standards all around, no point in condemning him as the only thing that will make him change is $$$.

yep this same, orignally impressed with his promotion but then when there were speedbumps and people didn't just immediately give ZUFFA the benefit of the doubt, he came out guns blazing about how stupid anyone was to have an issue, that point is always the point where you are inviting the decline to hasten.
I'd say it's his promoting tactics. It gets everyone fired up but now days with so much social media it's been biting him in the ass. 
The part of business where you can go from 60-0 in seconds is damage control, and that is the area where Dana doesn't understand what to do and it usually comes from experience or training/education. He's great when things are rolling, but he should never have been the guy in charge of damage control, especially for damage he caused, all you do is keep piling on the problem and now their solution is to scrub his media accounts and hide him from sight.
All that does now, is look blatantly obvious that they are afraid of his mouth/brain causing more damage.
This is why going into business with friends has a time bomb attached to it.

yeah i think in a interview cm punk said his lawyer had little arguments with the contract they were signing but they fixed it so the likeness could have been that issue. i don't know much about the reebok deal but do all sponsors go away or only apparel sponsors? if brock re-signs he isn't losing Jimmy John's lol

Actually if you really follow up you would know that when Jon Fitch finally talked with Lorenzo he told him that he could get his likeness rights back whenever he wanted they just needed the initial releases to secure the deal with THQ. The real problem was that instead of finding a way to explain things to the fighters Dana just flew off the handle. But they were never meant to be kept in perpetuity. Dana helped put mma on tv for any fan to see. I think the business aspect that hurts the fighters is well above him. He has fucked up in so many ways, but he had a passion for the sport and helped a lot. Not a shill or a fan, but you really cant lay all the blame on him....he is a man and a imperfect man...

I definitely agree with this. I think the bigger problems in the UFC stem from the culture of the organization, which is not necessarily Dana's fault. I still think he is immature and lacks respect for his fighters but good post.
