Dana White has Askren Asterisk induced meltdown

CRE -
Pat Giles - So why isn't askren in the ufc? Dana pretty much said he would work with him if he wanted to be there. Phone Post 3.0

Ben is fighting in a more dangerous league right now. ONEFC.

Stomps, soccer kicks, knees to a downed opponent etc.

I am not hell bent on Askren fighting in the UFC. The UFC Welterweight division is weird without Ben Askren and GSP involved.

SNAP! Thanks for that I am stoked for that fight. Phone Post 3.0

rory is clearly gnawing the inside of his mouth -literally biting his lip-- the symbolism couldn't be more plain.

he definitely has something to say. something that either dana or his own crippling autism is preventing him from articulating.

LOL! Rory's Crippling Autism. Phone Post 3.0

The thing is, the ufc cannot say they have the best WW on the planet. We will never know for sure but askren looks like he could handle the ufcs top WW Phone Post 3.0

I honestly think he is a style nightmare for lawler Phone Post 3.0

Did you even watch the video?

If it wasn't a big deal then Dana White wouldn't be reacting the way he is in the clip. I really respect Dana's passion here, that means he does care at least.

Again I pride myself on going a step further, so I will use the Kubler-Ross model or the five stages of grief to analyze the situation.

DABDA

"
  1. Denial — One of the first reactions is Denial, wherein the survivor imagines a false, preferable reality.
  2. Anger — When the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue, it becomes frustrated, especially at proximate individuals.
  3. Bargaining — The third stage involves the hope that the individual can avoid a cause of grief. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life is made with a higher power in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. Other times, they will use anything valuable against another human agency to extend or prolong the life. People facing less serious trauma can bargain or seek compromise.
  4. Depression —
During the fourth stage, the individual becomes saddened by the certainty of death. In this state, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time mournful and sullen.
  5. Acceptance — "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it."
In this last stage, individuals embrace mortality or inevitable future, or that of a loved one, or other tragic event. People dying may precede the survivors in this state, which typically comes with a calm, retrospective view for the individual, and a stable condition of emotions."

First it was denial. Dana flatly said that Askren wasn't UFC level or good enough to compete in the UFC, along with something about Askren "just not being my type of guy". We do know that a contract of substance was not offered.

Now we are in the Anger stage. Do you not see how the story changed to Ben Askren doesn't want to fight in the UFC? Dana is pissed off that he made a mistake by not signing Ben Askren, that is harming the legitimacy of his sporting organization.  Dana/UFC deep down inside loves having the best fight the best.  Askren is being paid very well by Singaporeans with deep pockets. The UFC WW division needs Askren to lose badly. The Askren Asterisk is rising problem for anyone trying to say they're the best @ 170 lbs.

Hopefully bargaining is next. Bring the trash bag money. This is a shake down.

I'm fully in support of what you're saying in respect of Ben Askren, but the five stages of grief is fucking stupid and completely unsupported by data, as is any so called "body language" expert.

Hillarious that you're trying to armchair analyze him lol

wtf are you guys talking about?

He started off as a wrestler (with an olympic pedigree) and has since expanded his game and is currently on a 4 fight finish streak including KOs via punching, doctor stoppage and submission.

How the fuck are you guys calling him a Fitch? It's like when retards regurgitate the vulnerabilities he showed in that one Heiron fight almost half a decade ago as though he hasn't evolved and changed as a fighter lol

Not to mention he's a complete shit talker and loves to take the stage. He'd be a perfect addition.
Real answer is Dana wants to lowball him and Askren knows what he's worth imo

Why would dana pay askren that much bellator wouldn't even sign him back. Don't get me wrong I want to see him fight in the ufc but it's business. I wouldn't give him a top dollar contract. Phone Post 3.0

lmmfao at the lying ass clown that is Dana White losing his shit over Askren. Dana was wrong about Ben's potential from day 1 and does not want the best wrestler g&p control guy on the planet to dominate the UFC's WW division. Signing Ben would cut into the UFC's wang and bang based business plan and make Dana look like a non fight knowing fool - again. Ben wants to fight the best in the world but can't because Dana Pussed Out like a little bitch.

Lol at Rory being scared of Askren. I like Ben and hope he fights in the Ufc soon, but rory beats everyone on that stage . Phone Post 3.0

UFC brass meets with the guy, refuses to sign him, says needs to go somewhere else and then says that the guy does not want to fight for them? Umm.....ok.

Anyone that agrees with Dana needs to crawl back into their whole and take a 10 day timeout from the boards.

CRE you gonna take my Aldo Mcgregor bet or you gonna keep runnin? Dont be scared homie. Phone Post 3.0

We know that Ben is an incredible wrestler and up and coming MMA star but why are you so obsessed with proving Ben is the best MMA guy on the planet. It seems like such a bizarre and unsubstantiated claim especially considering who he's fought.

I'm actually an Askren fan and would love to see him tested against the best in the world but until he fights a top ten guy I think these threads are ridiculous.

Oh and I'm aware I'm likely posting in a troll thread but I can't help myself with these fucking Askren threads.

Dana looks like a total douche up there slurring his words and yelling instead of answering a question like a professional.

Bush League IMO

What's even more embarrassing is all the neckbeards cheering him on as if he's some hero and not a lying scumbag.

TeePeeHaych - Ask ten is a very good fighter and I would love to see him in the UFC. However, he has not faced consistent high level competition and is therefore not the best 170 pounder on the planet. Phone Post 3.0

Anyone who thinks Dan Hornbuckle, Lyman Good, Nick Thompson, Jay Hieron, Karl Amoussou, Nobutatsu Suzuki, Andrey Koreshkov, and Douglas Lima is not consistent high level competition for a guy who has been involved in MMA for only 6 years, then that person just isn't very well educated on the sport of MMA.

Tons of guys just got signed by the UFC. UK WW's like Steven Ray and undefeated Tom Bresse, Canadian Shane Campbell step up on less than a months notice to take a fight in a weight class that is a tough weight cut. Meanwhile Ben is doing Ben. On one of the rare occasion's Dana is correct it is clear Ben doesn't want to fight in the UFC, and doesn't want to fight the best competition in the world. Your list of guys around the top -30-50 range pale in comparison to the competition Rory Macdonald consistently fights and beats. Douglas Lima is the best of them and where he would fit in who even knows there, becuase he is another guy who doesn't appear to want to fight the best. 5 rounds, Rory would give Ben a beating.

Ben won't do it for nothing. Not everyone wants to fight in the ufc no matter what they are offered. So technically Dana is correct. Ben has said that he makes a better income with onefc so why bother. Yet I'm sure CM Punk got offered much more.

UFC is turning into a circus like wwe.
