I know that I need to get my shins close to the bar, but I've never seen anyone talk about how wide of a stance/grip to take when doing deadlifts.
Right now I am setting up with my hands on the beginning of the knurling and my shins just inside my arms. My feet are only about 6 inches apart from each other.
Is that the correct stance to take? I it matters I am 6'2".
Your feet should be about shoulder width apart and turned out slightly. Your grip should be just wide enough that your arms do not interfere with your legs.
That said, make sure your form is on and that you start with light weights until you get the movement down pat.
