UFC President Dana White recently conducted a roundtable with Brazilian media at ZUFFA headquarters, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TATAME is reporting that Fabricio Werdum will get a title shot if he defeats Rodrigo Nogueira in early June.

"Yes. If he wins, they will have their title shot," White is quoted as saying.

What about the REEM?

Dana White would never lie about someone getting a title shot.......

I really wanted him vs Cain for the shot, but I think big nog scorches him standing. Phone Post

if Overeem wins @ ufc156 you figure he vs the champ on the july 4th card make sense. the timelines match up. and if reem loses cormier could fill the spot if jds is the champ.

So it will probably be Werdum vs JDS/Cain/Overeem

A Werdum vs JDS fight in Brazil would be huge.

If either Werdum or JDS lose, then a JDS / Cain vs Overeem makes sense.

here we go

Anytime someone beats Nog they get a title shot. But yet if Nog beats someone he never gets a title shot Phone Post

We'll hold our breath and wait and see... Phone Post

I'd be thrilled with 5 rounds of fake drops and scooting. Phone Post

Appeasing the Brazil fans and media, that's all. They're six months away from even fighting so I highly doubt a title shot is even being thought of yet so far away. Especially with Overeem and Cormier still in the picture.

If Reem wins impressively it will be hard for Blaf change his mindHow Phone Post

Dumbest thing to say ever. It's got to be Reem. Phone Post

HW title fight dec 29th, 2012. Winner vs Reem in June around the same time Werdum vs Big Nog. Perfect timing for Werdum vs Reem 3 for the title in October.

wam bam thank you mam

Well he barely beat Heath Herrring and got a title shot for his troubles, which he won.

He was knocked out by Frank Mir to lose his title and then decisioned Randy

He was given Cain to really prove himself and was promptly put to sleep.

He was given a huge step down in Brendan Schaub and KO'd him so he gets the rematch against Mir

But had his arm ripped off.

He was given a very favorable match up against Herman and won and now gets back to a ranked opponent.

When during that run did you expect him to get a title shot? He's gone 3-3 since winning his interim belt.

Big Nog fan (pun intended, Big Pun if you will,) but I can't argue with this logic; Don't see how anyone can.

"Hello there olive complexion chin, we meet again."

-- Junior's uppercut

If Overeem beats Bogfoot, he'll get his shot. He fights much eatlrlier than Werdum so the timing works out.

It'a Cormier who would be getting screwed. If he beats Staring and Mir, he'd deserve it over Werdum. Only if Cain is champ would Werdum getting the shot over Cormier make sense.

Overall I don't put much weight into Dana's words (as usual). Things are way too up in the air right now to be discussing who fights for the title in Fall 2013.
