Per Frank on conference call
will b the lightest hes ever fought. shit he fought hw's like enson...
should be a good fight
I for one did NOT see this coming.
Man, good for Strikeforce!
It wont be a difficult cut for Frank at all seeing as he walks around at high 180s low 190s...
Since Nick and frank are both pretty much that size I dont see why they're going with a catch weight at all.
Frank says he'll make weight by giving up drinking beer at lunch time. lol
this is gonna be a crazy fight

Has Diaz ever been KO'd?
jeremy jackson ktfo out of him.
unbelievit
Outstanding match up... one I never considered because of the weight difference. Tough call, that one will be!

Wow, was I wrong about this matchup; never thought this fight would be confirmed with both fighters having good options at their natural weight classes.
With that said very happy with this matchup two guys who love to talk but also usually back it up.
Great Match-up, no matter how improbable it seemed.

Fun match up but why is it a tough call?
I give Diaz mad props for taking a fight with someone who is really 2 weightclasses above him, but I can't see how he won't get kliled here.
maxmain - actually not a big fan of catch-weight fights.
wtf? get outta here pansy ass
GO DIAZ

Exactly.
Why do people have this misguided impression that Frank is some kind of huge guy or that there's going to be a dramatic weight difference?
Even at their natural fighting weight without having to cut, Frank wouldn't be much bigger than Nick, if at all. And I bet Nick will actually at least look bigger than Frank.
And Frank has never been big for his weight. He never really cut weight to fight in the UFC's 200 division - but still dominated. He was actually fighting at around the mid-190's, just coming in and fighting as is. He weighed in at 196 for the Tito fight - with his clothes on.
Diaz, by stark contrast, has been a HUGE weight-cutter. He supposedly weighed in the 180's come fight-time even when he cut to make 160.
Diaz is also taller and rangier than Frank, and he actually knows how to put his reach to good use with his surprisingly effective, flicking/pawing standup.
So despite the different weight classes they're in (and again, even when Frank was dominating the UFC's 200 division, he was still really just a small 185-er by today's standards) - the reality is that Frank will most likely not enjoy a substantial size advantage over Nick, if at all. Certainly not enough to be a defining factor.
This is a very intriguing matchup. The catch-weight wasn't even really necessary.
ah cool
I was wondering what the catch weight would be
Tough fight for Nick. I'd rather see what Shields would do to Frank at a 179 catchweight.

Tough call has nothing to do with any weight difference... that just made it a match I never considered, for that reason.
IMO, Franks stand up is better even with the disadvantage of reach. If it goes to the ground, Nick will submit him, IMO.
Both are smack-talkers and I just love that part of both guys... only with Nick, I believe he will truly hate Frank by fight night whereas Frank will talk the talk because it's a great way to give the spectators what they want to see sometimes (hostility between fighters).
Never a dull moment with either guy, that's for sure;)

Rules are for suckers Frank! Youre old school...I say knee him in the temples!
