Did Francis just get chased back to the UFC negotiation table?

It wasnt anywhere near as brutal of a beatdown as this though. It was 10 rounds and the fight getting waved off while Conor was against the ropes vs Ngannou getting completely obliterated and looking like he was dead.

and women will never fight in the ufc. dana is a money man. doubt he’d miss out to hold a grudge. francis did nothing wrong. just fought out of his contract. i’m sure they hated it but it wasn’t sheisty.

Yeah. But Conor looked pretty poor against the smaller man, while Francis did have a good showing against arguably the best HW boxer around just prior to this loss.

The business doors never fully close. If it makes sense, money talks.

Francis needs to win one MMA fight brutally and he’ll be in the consideration again.

Realistically though, he could box Zhilei Zhang, although it would be a very dangerous fight, then maybe do 2 MMA fights and retire.

I don’t know why anyone would try to change the narrative to Dana was right all along and Francis will have to come crawling back.

Dana fucked up by not making the UFC deal attractive enough to keep Ngannou, who is still the winner in this situation, despite this knockout .

Ngannou has made more money in 2 boxing fights than he would have in over 10 UFC title fights and still has a great deal with PFL to fall back on. He is making more money and has a greater level of freedom than he would ever get at the UFC and I’m guessing feels way more valued as a fighter/person.

I thought Ngannou had an iron chin. I was obviously wrong. This will not be good for him going forward.

Yea but only because no popular fighters are fighting on there.

Conor is an actual draw in mma and Francis was not. Conor had a good performance against the best boxer of this generation, Francis got killed in embarrassingly fashion by a guy that’s good, but nowhere near the best heavyweight boxer. Big difference.

Francis is not a draw, never was, and he just got crushed.

I still want to see Francis vs Wilder. Both coming off a loss.

Fight fans are generally the worst fans in all of sports. Iif you don’t believe me just read through this thread and see how few people are lauding Frances for taking on the two best boxers of his generation with no boxing experience and how many people are mocking him. We don’t deserve guys with long careers anymore who take on big challenges. It’s not worth the risks to your health. This is a big reason boxers today are so protected by their promoters and managers. They take easy fights so they can stay undefeated instead of taking risks. Bob Arum and Don King figured out a long time ago that an undefeated fighter against 2 or 3 scrubs will out earn any mega fight if their fighter comes out the loser. It’s just a safer investment to string the fans along and keep their fighters on a healthy diet of over the hill names, cab drivers blown up lower weight class fighters. Take your money and run Frances. I hope he enjoys the 30 million dollars he earned over the last two fights and retires, or not if he’s happier competing. By all accounts he’s a really solid person and I wish him the very best in life.

Wilder’s right hand could truly hurt Francis and I mean medically.

Francis did not display the tools of the trade that help a person a small bit absorb “ take “ a shot. Not 100% but years of boxing give most people some tools which help, not to mention a better defense.

Francis was there for his head to be knocked off after getting nearly knocked off 2 or 3 times.

Just saying Wilder’s right hand could truly damage a person

AJ’s delivery was scary enough on Francis

I think he had a solid chin, but basically zero defence against getting caught flush by a guy who even by HW boxing standards is considered a very serious puncher. The shots he got up from were very heavy as well. Nobody has ever hit him anywhere near that hard in MMA.

And yeah, once your chin gets cracked that bad its probably going to be a problem in future fights.

Make your mind up. Either it’s great he got 30 million or it’s terrible because fans don’t worship him. I can’t fucking stand him. So maybe that hurts his feelings and yours. But he’s rich so hopefully he’ll be able to cope. Do you see how stupid that is? Men work for money, not accolades. That’s a female characteristic.

Francis will have to sit out for awhile. He is almost 40 years old. He is not coming back to the UFC. In MMA if he was still in the UFC he would’ve made $8mm for the Jones fight. He said his contract would’ve went down if he lost to $500k but not sure if it stayed at $8mm if he won or if it included ppv payout.
