Diego / Gomi fightmetric

Chael and Bisping both had it for Gomi

That's because they aren't fucking blind!

everybody with 2 eyes had it for Gomi, but don't forget, some idiot also had Lombard winning against Okami.

I bet Orcus (who I generally appreciate) had Diego beating Kampmann too

Frank Gallagher -

That doesn't make sense.

Gomi out landed Sanchez in all three rounds yet Sanchez only got takedowns in the first rd.  So how did they figure Sanchez won the 2nd and 3rd.

Exactly why it's a robbery. Sanchez did nothing to win that fight. A 10 second flurry at the end shouldn't steal a round.

orcus -  It's hilarious that you're implying that Overeem must have done something right because the judges -- MMA's infamous judges -- gave him the win.

Fightmetric in fact has Werdum winning under both the 10-point must system AND their own system, and -- unsurprisingly -- also landing more strikes (both significant and otherwise) than Overeem:  What do you make of that?

Well.. the only comment for Reem vs. Werdum was Reem was the aggressor, and Werdum's butt flopping didn't sit well with the judges I suppose. Some people will have an opinion that Reem won that fight because of how it happened. Werdum avoided the fight at times and didn't do anything engaging to draw Reem into his gameplan (bjj)
SO.. Sanchez vs Gomi has NOTHING to do with Reem vs. Werdum They treated two takedowns in the first as the game winner. When in fact Sanchez didn't win the 2nd or 3rd.

You're right, it has nothing to do with Reem/Werdum, however it highlights that the OP is now exhibiting a habit of using fightmetric to score a fight.

I'm sure once I watch I won't have Diego Sanchez winning, I'm just saying don't use a website with flawed judging and statistics(significant strikes is subjective) for your argument.

Get over it goofs. No robbery. Close fight and the commentary was ABSURDLY one-sided.

This in no way proves Sanchez won. Octagon control and significant strikes trumps Sanchez's stats. Phone Post

either im reading it wrong or the OP is doing some kind of reverse psychology

doesnt that have gomi ahead on total strikes and sig strikes?

damn fucking bullshit gomi won that fight

What stats are you looking at? Sanchez does not have better stats there.

That's what I'm saying. Sanchez obviously list even by looking at the fight metric stats. Phone Post

Gomi was robbed, period.

Gomi threw more, Gomi landed more, Gomi was more agressive (IMO).

MrMichaelz -
Mufasatheking -
MrMichaelz - So octagon control and damage are outweighed by takedowns/ta ?

if standup is even then yes.

But according to fight metric diego just won the first.

Gomi landed with damage and controlled the cage for most of the fight. He also dictated what happened. Diego had 40% success rate for his takedowns.. Judges should take that into consideration.

Stuffing a TD should mean more than it does now. Sure he got 2 but failed at 3. Gomi won the figh IMO. He controlled more, landed with damage and stuffed TD's.

. Phone Post

You're right Orcus, no robbery aside from Gomi winning every round. Even if you give round 1 to Sanchez for two takedowns that led to nothing amidst backpedaling and being outstruck the rest of the round, Gomi still wins.

EVERY single major mma site gave the fight to Gomi. This is Robbery of the Year so far

Just curious, does anyone know who the judges were over there. UFC usually flies some idiots from Las Vegas overseas for their offshore events. Anybody know who did the damage this time?

On MMAdecisions.com, it lists the judges as "Unknown". Hopefully they will update the page with the known judges soon

I agree. I thought it was a 30-27 fight, but the first round was kinda close.

Fairly obvious Gomi should have won that fight. This is even more of a robbery than Sanchez vs Kampmann.

.

I don't know which fight was more highway robbery that Diego won Gomi or Kampmann both were absoultely gifts given to Diego.

man this infuriates me considering i had money on gomi. as soon as i heard it was a split i knew i was getting fucked, goddamn diego.
