Why? The owner should be sitting back out of sight. No one cares about the owner. I bash Mark Cuban for the same thing. It's even worse with Dana because he talks like the UFC is his own personal toy.
Sport is about the athletes, not some rich douche who stumbled into enough money to buy an organization. The owners do their job by putting together quality events, we don't need to see them all in the mix.

Did you ever see the owner(s) of Pride hogging the camera, playing the big shot, mouthing off or threatening the fighters? No, because Pride was a classier operation (blah blah yakuzi, who cares, I'm talking about the presentation). Everything was about the fighters and the spectacle of the event. They knew no one gave a shit about the owners.
UFC has become a big dork fest drama about a power-tripping Uncle Fester and his unquenchable thirst for publicity. The fights/fighters are just plot props in the never-ending saga about Dana White and the many facets of his maniacal ego.
Dana needs to ban himself from the post fight shows, he is too emotionally involved. I'm sure if he had time to get his emotions in check he would have realised that going on TV and basically trashing both fighters because the less profitable option won would not be a good look for the UFC.
No comparison to Don King, he would hype the hell out of his fighter and then if his fighter lost he would have his arm around the winner, calling him the greatest fighter ever and trying to make a deal.
King may have been a crook and a scumbag, but he understood how to promote.

This is tactical. Dana is the face of the UFC because if a fighter or group of fighters become bigger than the UFC you end up with guys like Floyd Mayweather who can dictate everything despite what the promoters (and fans) want. I'm not saying which is better (promoters vs. fighters) but that's the reason you see Dana everywhere.
