Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor

It fractured on the small step and twist he made before stepping back on it and fully snapping it.

I was at an event way back called venom I think and Brian Warren dislocated his ankle ajd IR foot I guess off a punch I have pics in an old Hd. It was insane. Happened off a planted four for a punch also.

It was the continual elbows to the head
The shock reverberated down the spine to the lowest point and when he stood up the weakened leg just exploded.
Science.

lol. Yeah it looked like he could have just been pointing/acknowledging like “good kicks, but I got you checked on it now.”. Wasn’t necessarily “Ahah! You just got a hairline fracture!” Maybe that’s what happened, it would be surprising. Even a small fracture hurts like hell, immediate intense sharp pain, and Conor didn’t react at all, just threw another kick right away. Who knows.

Conor took a beating on the ground, and would have done everything to avoid that if it went to a second so it would have been guns blazing. He still most likely would have lost. Not a Conor fan, but he is skilled and his mouthy little bastard routine is more entertaining now that all the morons aren’t duped into thinking he’s some unbeatable God of fighting.

Some of you were always complaining. If he was very conciliatory and kissed Dustin’s ass at the end you would all say he was a phony and all that trash talk was fake. But Connor stayed consistent and still talked about the DM’s after the fight which crack me up by the way. Now you’re saying he’s a sore loser.

Connor had them right where he wanted him. It’s a shame that a fluke ankle injury that came out of nowhere, probably from over training, Back to the untimely end of this fight.

It was not a fluke. It was an injury sustained from contact.

An injury sustained from hard contact is not a freak accident.

When someone breaks their hand on a punch, that’s not a freak or a fluke. It’s simply an in injury sustained from contact. And it happens relatively often.

This is the definition of a freak injury retard.

Note your last sentence, “it happens relatively often”

Yeah people break their hands all the time it’s not a freak injury.

You know what I’ve only seen once, someone take a step back and have their leg explode just from trying to plant it.

Only seeing it once is the definition of a freak injury.

I know you really hate Conor and want this to be thought of as Dustin broke his leg with excellent strategy, but it’s not. Conor landing with his foot on Dustin’s thigh 4 minutes before his leg exploded had nothing to do with him breaking his leg.

If Conor turned his ankle and had a sprain because he stepped on it weird because his foot/ankle were tender, that’s one thing, this is a compound fracture.

If anything, you’re talking about hairline fractures, I’d bet Conor beat the hell out of his legs in training trying to get them tougher just in case DP had a kick heavy gameplan. Probably came into the fight with a weakened shin. Which is on him, he should stop training with foo foo hippie trainers and get an actual team in an actual camp.

If that is the case, is not also possible, as hard as Connor was kicking in the beginning of the fight, that he also could have softened it up in the fight as well? This is the very reason people like the calf kick over the leg kick aint it? That you cant hurt your leg kicking the calf where there is always the risk of hitting the knee on leg kicks? He was def kicking the legs hard…

The slow motion of the kick that was checked clearly looks like his leg had a weird wobble/bend to it when it came off Poirier’s leg. Then the clip you post shows the same thing just before it buckled. It is obvious something happened with the check that did not fully compromise the leg, but that did enough damage to set it up for catastrophe. Only thing surprising to me is how McGregor fought on as he has a history of not showing well against adversity. Probably adrenaline getting him through until it gave way completely.

Which kick was checked? The kick Dustin pointed after looked like it landed behind Dustin’s knee. I don’t think Dustin checked any of Conor’s kicks.

Again, his leg was fucked before he stepped back on it. It’s clear as day on video. He fractured it before he took that step. Likely as a result from a strike. Just like breaking a hand on a punch.

Precisely this.

See above.

Dustin’s knee check absolutely fucked Conor’s leg. Right there it is bent in the exact spot where it completely breaks minutes later.

I wouldn’t call that a checked kick. It looks like Conor kicked him it the back of the knee (or close to it).

Tim lajcik had a compound big toe dislocation or fracture off a takedown one time.

That could be it too. Either way, the contact to Dustins knee is what fucked his leg.
