Dana White was recently on MMAJunkie.com Radio and discussed the departure of Dan Henderson, here are the highlights…

On Henderson's Stance: "Dan is in I-don't-want-to-make-a-deal mode. There are some deals in which you go in and negotiate and make a deal. You know you want to make a deal. ... Dan Henderson knows he does not want to make a deal."

On What Henderson Wants: "The [expletive] that Dan came in and said in my office and what he wants, it's unrealistic, and he knows it," White said. "And it's basically based off of, 'I heard this guy is making this, and I heard this guy made (this much).' Basically, what everybody gets pissed off about is Tito. 'Oh, I heard Tito is making all this money, and Tito is this and that.' And it's because Tito likes to go out there and stay stuff like that or somebody in his camp did. That's how [expletive] gets started. "

Will He Ever Come Back?: "Doors are never closed," he said. "I'm in the fight business. We put on fights. Doors never close. Never say never. Dan could call me tonight. Fedor could call on three-way with him. We could sign them both up tonight if they want to call."

Easy solution to solve this problem.

Follow the law that is applicable to boxing, that is on Athletic Commission forms but for reasons inadequately explained--not applied to MMA, and disclose all compensation.

This way, fighters will know exactly where they stand, without need of ever getting involved in the "I heard" game.

So, Dan's officially in Strikeforce?

The clinchgear ban basically hinted at it but I never read a news report officially announcing his move.

teh dan/dana/fedor 3-way thing has me a little creeped out. just sayin-MM

 It gave me a stiffy

Sign Lindland, Dana.

whatever tito is getting paid is way too much

Maybe Tito was right: He's forging a path for other fighters, in terms of high pay.?.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly would this expletive stand for? I can't figure it out..

Or just like every other person on earth they shoulnd't know shit about anyone's else's private business unless that person decides to tell them : )

Not true--in boxing, its law.  Why?

Because otherwise, there is no legitimate market.

MMA is different how?

Dana doesn't want to cut into to those 90% margins and is acting like Dan is an ass for wanting more money.  Regardless of who is making what, pretty much at least all the main card guys, at least ME and CME fighters, deserve a bump, Tito or no Tito.

Unfortunately, the UG will side with Zuffa, like always.

For someone who "hates talking about money", Dana sure doesn't hesitate to blab about anything and everything relating to the finances of fighters he is not on good terms with. He did it with Tito, Randy, Arlovski, Sylvia, Huerta, Fedor, and Henderson, just to name a few. Maybe one of the sleuths in the MMA media should ask him about that total contradiction between what he says and what he does.

The sad part is, a lot of UFC marks are going to come away with the false notion that Henderson trying to determine his free agent value is a bad thing. In the big pro sports leagues everyone loves to compare the UFC to, players know what other players are making, and even base their asking price on what players in similar roles are making.

Does anyone really think Henderson should make far less than Tito Ortiz? I'd say at this point, Hendo is as much of a draw, and far more relevant to the championship picture.

Pay him. Pay that man his money.

Why should the blame fall on Dan Henderson when no one knows who is making how much money?

All the fighers are kept in the dark on who is making how much.

Dana was asked this before and he said that its nobody's business and that the fighters dont want it disclosed either.  Im not sure how much of that is true.

I think the fighters should want it disclosed. If they all want to get paid fairly they should let it be known how much they get paid but its probably written in the contract that they are not allowed to disclose how much money they made publically.

Theres been talks that while other sports pay 40% of their profits to the athletes, UFC is only at 10%. They play it off as if this is not true and under the "this is a different business model" crutch but they should disclose who is making how much.

Blame should fall on the UFC for not disclosing salaries to the athletes who are actually going out there putting their health on the line for a pay cheque.

"Dan could call me tonight. Fedor could call on three-way with him. We could sign them both up tonight if they want to call."

Corporate talk......They would have to sign the contract that they obviously have problems with.

It's a little bit different than what is being displayed here.

Decision Dan isn't a draw.  I couldn't care less if I never see him fight again.

Good to hear the doors are never closed.

Dan can get money and more glory in Strikeforce than he can in the UFC. Let's face it, he ain't gonna beat Silva, but in Strikeforce he can be a champ on CBS.

K-Dub-"T" -
ranier wolfcastle -  whatever tito is getting paid is way too much

Not unless he is geting a portion of the tickets he sells. Tito is still a big draw

How can anyone bag on Henderson for trying to get more money? In the end, Dana and Dan each have a choice in the matter. Neither is bad or wrong.

Please find me some quotes. Truth is that most guys don't want the world knowing what they make.I can't recall any fighters disclosing pay, sponsorship dollars and whatnot. Do they want to know what others are making? Most likely, but you will be hard pressed to find somebody that wants everyone to know what they made.Even after Tito left the UFC, he would not talk about contracts and pay.Has Fedor come out and said he is making right now? Does Scott Coker disclose all pay? Hell no.

Regarding % to fighters. The ppv breakdown was made public with the Couture dispute. Just looking at that shows that they pay far more than 10%
