Famous gyms you have trained at?

Let’s hear it UG

What well known or famous gyms have you trained at before?

My father lived in Las Vegas for about 5 years after retiring. When I would go out there and visit him, I would sometimes stop in at a new gym. I went to Xtreme Couture, Wanderlei gym, and Sergio Penha gym in the past. Had great experiences at all of them.

Let’s hear it.

Jim

Big J,

Good to see you back brother hope all is well.

I’ve trained MT with several top instructors from Fairtex Gym, amazing stuff.

Currently training at AKA when it’s not closed due to the CA shutdown.

Chris… What’s up my man!!

How is the training at AKA? that would be awesome to check out.

I always wanted to stop by Fairtex in San Francisco. I believe its closed down now, but could be wrong.

I dropped in at Nova Uniao in Flamengo, Rio as well as Brazilian Top Team in Lagoa. Both places I dropped in the jj class from Pederneiras and Bustamante, respectively. Good experiences. Both different in that they are both part of some bigger fitness complex and not stand alone facilities like they do in the US.

I've been into City Kickboxing here in NZ a few times.

Great gym. Eugene is a very nice guy. Izzy was working on wrestling scrambles and volkanovski was doing pad work from memory. This was before either of them were champs.

Think Izzy was training for the Gastelum fight maybe.

Good people all around in there and a great set up

I trained NO TOUCH KOs with grand master george dillman.

He complimented me on the amount of chi in my fingernails.

I used to go to one of the first powerhouse gyms BHJJC. You worked out with or where taught by Fabiano Iha (UFC), Darrell Gholar (UFC, National Champion Greco), King of the Street Marco Ruas (UFC), The Pedro Rizzo (UFC, Pride), Mark Kerr (UFC, PRIDE), Bas Rutten (EVRYWHERE), Genki Sudo, The Gracie Hunter Kazushi Sakuraba and I’m sure I’m forgetting several.

I saw everyone of these guys on the mats. It was amazing.

I've taken from Mark and Yodtong Senanan there in Sommerville, and they taught a seminar at my gym. Yodtong is probably the most impressive guy I ever met in combat sports. He's like a holy man. I don't know any other way to put it.

I always wanted to go there. If I remember that was the gym that Mark Kerr trained with Bas Rutten and Ricco Rodriguez at. Looked like an awesome place and of first big gyms.
