Fedor’s technique was out of this world good. Literally championship level.
Everything looks better if delivered with speed and power. And here’s the kicker:
Talent certainly helps everywhere, but good technique will make you faster and more powerful.
Troll aside, OP doesn’t understand logic.
The logic, in a nutshell:
OP: Just because Fedor was a good fighter, that doesn’t mean he will be a good trainer.
Also OP: How can Fedor be a good trainer when he’s not good at these specific aspects of fighting?
OP, choose a side. Does his fighting abilities matter?
Right.
The jab is one of the easiest punches to learn, but the hardest to master.
Besides, striking teachers rarely are technique nerds.
Let’s see your work ?
Mitts, heavy bag, speed bag, double end, sparring, slip bag!
Post your videos!
MR. C
You’re a 5’9” pudgy couch potato, by your own admission, there is nothing you do better in regards to combat than Fedor.
Shut the fuck up you faggot.
.
Congratulations!
You won post of the thread!
Here’s your prize… It’s a hat.
That’s mean. How can you be so mean to a heavyweight champion?!
It’s practically fighter bashing, lemme tell you!
Probably the most idiotic thread I’ve ever seen on here. And Vegito Blue posts all the time .
Best body shots ever? Pereira digs a huge left hook to the liver 25 seconds into that fight. Maybe Pereira should be a trainer lol.
So Mr Calf, you in your infinite wisdom can’t see any benefit in training with a Sambo expert and a master of sport, reserved for the highest level of sportsmen in Russia. Someone who has trained and trained alongside many of the top mma practitioners in the world for over 20 years. You can’t see any benefit to working with someone with that kind of experience right?
Although he didn’t really show it well in later years, Fedor’s style of striking was perfect for MMA. It’s designed to be a dual threat - either he’s landing bombs or he’s missing but in missing he’s putting himself in perfect position for takedowns. Check his Pride fights for examples. It might not look “right” by boxing or kickboxing standards, but this isn’t boxing or kickboxing.
That is completely teachable. Very few even to this day are good at transitions and it would be a great skill to learn.
OP is maybe the worst poster in UG history. He has to be a young kid
Is that why he got tagged and KOed left and right the moment he slowed down a bit?
Also this discussion of Fedor got me interested and I rewatched his fight with Nog. He relied heavily on his natural speed and strength. Him and Ronda move similarly, very fluidly.
At one point Nog almost slaps a triangle on him and Fedor just explodes out of it recklessly. No technique. We of course know how that worked against Werdum.
Anyways, I realize there no point in discussing anything with you guys. Fedor represents the era, PRIDE and standing up to Dana White to you.
If you look at the Fedor that was in his prime he was an unsolvable puzzle of transitions, chaining moves together, AND explosiveness.
I am not saying I would beat Fedor. I am saying that my technique is better than swinging all over the place, like Fedor does.
Alex was a better striker than Fedor.
Fedor doesn’t swing all over the place my friend. He slips and throws chasing hooks.
It’s a different style of boxing that works very well with small gloves. And particularly when chained with takedowns.
I’m sure you have a pretty straight western boxing jab. But you don’t understand technique nearly as well as you think you do
Ever seen the videos of Aleks sparring Fedor?
