You seem ignorant as to who I was referring to.
I’m not part of or invested in your pissing match with the other pretentious guy so you can save your over defensiveness for them because it’s wasted on me, lol.

Vasili Oshchepkov, one of the “Fathers of Sambo” was the first Russian to receive a 2nd Dan in Judo.
It’s not a surprise that many Sambo techniques are rooted in Judo.
Judo disappeared in Russia for many years, under Stalin many thngs of foreign origin were viewed with suspicion.
Oshchepkov himself died in prison, during the Stalinist political purges of 1937 he was accused of being a Japanese spy, I think he was later pardoned of that accusation.
Judo made a speedy return when it was added to the Olympics.
My apologies to the OP for adding some historical / factual content - please feel free to post your usual bollocks.
A few things: There is Sport & Combat Sambo.
It is different than Judo. Sambo has No chokes, has leg locks and you can perform wrestling take downs . Combat Sambo includes Strikes.
They also have a different rule set. Points for pins can be accumulated in one or separated in to two .
Throws are the same but there are a few that are specific to each
ALL combat sports are always changing.
I’m aware of all the differences in the sport formats that were made to make it a “different” martial art. At its basic core it’s still Judo. Btw the original Judo allowed wrestling-style takedowns.
I thumbs upped that for Train Judo.
I trained at a Sambo gym often in my BJJ training. I also did Judo for a while. BJJ is absolutely where its at, and I am glad I stuck with it.
It is very fun
I changed to preferring submission wins over knockouts.
Anyone can land a lucky punch. The losing fighter can say “oh i got caught. My body gave out but my fighting spirit was not broken.”
When you make another man tap, there is no fluke submission. He is mentally acknowledging that his fighting spirit was broken.
To me that is more satisfying.
Jack Merrispew, I’d ask your parents if they would go back in time and try to have a real man instead of the bitch that you’ve become
Become? He was not always one?
You inferred that I was pretentious and a self proclaimed genius, which isn’t within a country mile of being true. Someone with the brain pan of a stagecoach tilter is in no position to cast aspersions
Touche’
The two are more similar than you describe.
Usually when people say a lucky punch or a fluke knock out they are either being disingenuous or they do not have a great understanding of striking.
All I know is Kron Gracie is getting rekt this weekend, Charles Jourdain is a bad man, Vive le Quebec and shiiiiit, he can handle the best Kron can throw his way on the ground and absolutely destroy him standing.
Also keep an eye on Ikram Aliskerov, this ain’t some guy that won gold medals in 2012 and shit, his shit is recent and he is very very dangerous.
Got money on both these fights, its gonna be a great night for Sambo and an even better night for Quebec !
you are a dork, pls keep quiet the adults are talking.
Someone half as smart as you think you are would be able to tell I was referring to the other guy, not you.
I do think that, but I wasn’t talking about you. The other guy called you pretentious and said the guy you were arguing with wasn’t. I questioned that.
It was pretty obvious if you’re not kind of an overly defensive dipshit. I mean I quoted them both and you still needed it spelled out for you but yeah you’re clearly a clever one.
Ikram is awesome, Chimaev beat him, but I believe thats his only loss. He should smash Hawes
I honestly believe that in mma, bjj fighters need to start breaking bones.
Everyone love the standup fighters landing the big KO’s but seeing someone tap doesn’t seem then same.
If someone is going to KO you and possibly give you brain damage. Then a bjj guy has a right to finish you in grand style.
In the end their opponents will start tapping a lot sooner and more respect will be given to the bjj fighters.
Watch how fast Tim Silvia tapped after getting his arm broken in a previous fight.
