GSP being the goat is bs

GSP smashed everyone on his title run. Then dominated every top fighter while in his second title reign.

GSP may not be the GOAT but he is in the short list that makes the discussion.

The only good thing to come out of listening to you cock smokers discuss this is not hearing Anderson Silva’s name come up in GOAT contention. About fucking time.

lol @ OP, just fucking lol.

1/10 for effort.

Fedor came to the US and lost to guys like Big Foot Silva and a much smaller and older Dan Henderson.

Silva lost a bunch and cheated twice

Jones is a cheat and a joke now.

Mini mouse? Lolz

GSP is a two division undisputed champ who dominated everyone on route to the all time consecutive rounds won record. He dominated Hughes twice by the way… And age was not the reason, he was just a much more versatile and superior fighter.

GSP is a greaser who has avoided the fights that put you into GOAT conversation.

By fights you mean Anderson Silva I’m assuming, what other fights did he avoid? And you seriously think he’s not even in the conversation? lmao

He avoided that Big Rigg rematch in a fight he should have lost. And yes, ducking Silva.

Then dropping the 185 title right after winning it because he was too small to defend it. The whole way that went down was chicken shit on his part.

LOL@ Ducking Anderson.  Did Hughes duck Anderson?  Anderson ducked Jones?  Jones ducked whoever was Heavyweight champ during his won run?  Barao ducked Aldo?

Anderson used to fight at GSP's weight (and below) so how was it not HIM ducking GSP?  Not that I think that he he did but there is arguably more blame on Anderson for not having that fight take place.

superCulo -

Anderson Silva or Jon Jones are the only two fighters qualified for GOAT status. And that’s with all due respect to Fedor.

Ya cause anyone considered a goat has to be poped for peds at least once and someone who never has could never be a goat

Yep, Anderson wouldn't fight Jon Jones despite fighting at LHW from time to time, instead he always looked to get a fight with a smaller man but it's GSP who's the coward in this case.

GSP captured the MW belt after a 4 year layoff, there wasn't many people on here that thought it was a good idea to come back and go straight for the MW belt. Before the fight most people thought Bisping was a bad matchup and would tool GSP but once GSP beat him all of a sudden Bisping is terrible.

To say his wins aren't impressive because his opponents went on a slide afterwards is retarded. The game evolves, there's always hungry up and comers waiting for their shot and GSP fought them all when they were at their peak in the most stacked division. Only the current LW division rivals the depth of that WW pool when GSP was on top.

He reigned over that division as champ for the best part of a decade and never looked like he was ever in danger for the most part, but nah, he's not deserving of being considered one of the best to ever do it. If he's not, who the hell is?

TwentyNineTwentyEight - I hate GOAT talk in a Sport that is so young but, if there is one it's Fedor. 10 years undefeated as an undersized HW who fought so many Legends and finished them. I don't know if I'll ever see a Champ do that again as long as I live, especially at HW.

Fedor is not goat. He went from an organization with no testing rules to the US where there was some testing and didn't have near the same success. Then after he couldn't win in the US any longer and got smashed by a middleweight, he decided to go can hunting overseas and strung a couple wins together. Then back to the US and gets KO'ed by a fighter outside the top 15. All this while avoiding the promotion with the best talent after Pride purchase, where could have made the most money.

Jon Jones is the GOAT. Then probably Anderson followed by Fedor. Hendo should be somewhere up there too. Had he beaten Andy or won the title that last Bisping fight he'd win the GOAT crown.

I agree with everything you said except that GSP is ahead of Fedor too.

Probably: Jones, Anderson, GSP, Mighty Mouse if he beats TJ, then Fedor or Aldo

There are too many top fighters at HW that Fedor did not fight, even during his reign. Jones, Anderson, and GSP literally fought one contender after the other and cleaned out their weight classes. Fedor had some excellent wins but still had plenty of work to do, he wasted his time fighting Hong Man Choi, Ogawa, middleweight Lindland and Zulu. That's why needed to win in the UFC or be successful in Strikeforce to cement his legacy as GOAT.

Crazy isn’t it?  When he lost to Matt Hughes on a short notice fight......it’s Hughes in his prime. GSP was way green; he was 7-0.  When he beats Hughes two years later and Hughes is on a 19-1 streak and smashing the WW defenders on a record defense string.......suddenly Hughes is old?  No.

Don’t forget Anderson fought DC

GSP Top five wins

5. 34 year old matt hughes, chinny lost his power and stamina

4. nick diaz, what has he fought once since he fought gsp

3 Carlos Condit he has went 2-5 since gsp, just got out everything but a  journeyman

2. Hendricks, hendricks on his way to get cut, gets beat by everyone

1. Bisping, bisping at 38 and cant see straight

Then you have to think woodley and thompson are gsp's age and maia is older, the top 3 gsp besides being there peers, wont fight guys that are his generation

I am not even sure where to start on how big of a fail this post is.

Matt Hughes had won 19 of his last 20 fights and was on a 6 fight win streak when GSP beat him the first time.

Diaz had won 11 of his last 12 and was the strikeforce champion

Condit had won 13 of his last 14 when GSP beat him

GSP has fought twice as many fights against legit contenders than anybody in the GOAT conversation.

he’s fought so many that your “top 5” is debatable.

What about fighting Fitch, who was on a unprecedented 16 fight win streak?

or 2 division champ BJ Penn?

Or Thiago Alves who was on a 7 fight win streak including 5 knockouts?

Go add up the win/loss record of GSP opponents and you will find that no other fighter even comes close to the competition that hes faced.

GSP has beaten 8 former champions with no un-avenged losses. He is the undisputed GOAT and it’s not even close.

Agreed. I would also add the Koscheck was a really tough fighter when GSP beat him both times. So was Jake Shields.

Koschek in his prime is champion of that division for a long time if anyone other than GSP is champ.

Whambo - He was the most dominant fighter in the WW division for a period of 9 years, only losing twice, and avenging both losses. WW is the most stacked division in terms of talent pool, that's why when you look at the roster WW and LW have the majority of fighters. So really your argument is the most stacked division actually sucked for 9 years, as GSP was fighting all the most guys at their absolute best because most were title fights.

In conclusion, I have determined you are a faggot.

Moran's gonna moran.

At what point should a fighter choose to retire?  He didn't fucking "avoid" Hendricks.  He had been on an epic 9 year run and was getting burned out.  He had already been planning to stop fighting.

Never mind that Hendricks refused to do the additional drug testing after originally agreeing to do it.  GSP had been citing the lax drug testing for years as something he didn't agree with and Hendricks' actions were easily part of the reason for wanting to stop.

And you can also argue that GSP was in a close fight with Hendricks because he was getting bored and losing interest too...yet he still managed to win.

But again...when is a fighter supposed to choose his retirement?  When BreakALegAndy says so?!?!?  Fuck off.

p.s. - GSP was at ringside to challenge Anderson Silva when Silva stank up the joint against Demian Maia.  Silva's retarded antics and the UFC subsequently pulling the fight are what cost that fight.  GSP has never ducked a fight in his life.  He's always fought who the UFC put in front of him...until now.

So fuck what "BreakALegAndy" wants.

Lol @ thinking GSP was ever going to challenge Silva. Dumb ass

GSP was never going to fight Silva. He wouldn't even have returned has Bisping not won the belt. He saw his only opportunity to win a fight at 185 and took it against an aging fighter he knew he could beat from previous training.

He even lied about wanting to defend the belt just to get the fight, then suddenly vacates. That is class A chickenshit by GSP. At least defend it once, or try to
