Former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Dan Henderson has put himself in limbo, according to UFC president Dana White.
"Dan Henderson's in a position right now where it looks like he wants to wait for Jon Jones," White said today.
Earlier this month, White said Henderson (29-8 MMA, 5-2 UFC) turned down a fight with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC on FUEL 2.
Henderson soon after defended his decision in an interview with Clinch Gear Radio, saying he thought it was undecided whether he or Rashad Evans would get the first crack at champ Jon Jones and that he didn't think a fight with Nogueira was interesting for the fans.
Don't blame him at all, the only matchup out there that I really like is hendo machida and the risk of losing that fight would put hendo a long way from the title and at his age those are probably risks not worth taking
Win, lose, or draw that guy always comes to stand and wang.
I don't know what's more impressive, his chin or his power.
Agree with you but Rashad thought the same thing once upon a time and look how injuries completely ass fucked his title shot timeline.
Dan aint getting any younger though so he can afford to pick and choose his fights a little more I guess. You know Dana though, if someone steps up and wins a few fights impressively they will leap frog the guy taking the safe option awaiting his turn.
Guess he didnt learn from rashad. This disappoints me dan I like my fighters to fight. We need more fighters like chuck was who will risk their contender status to fight guys like vitor.

NiteProwleR - 42 years old is the reason why he wants nothing less than a title shot. he deserves it, I would rather see a rematch with Anderson though
This.
I think it is unlikely that he beats Jones but I have learned to never count Dan out of any fight.
However, I do see him beating Ando in a rematch.
I was hoping he could leapfrog Chael after his pathetic showing.
He has nothing to prove, so why wait a year for a title. Part of me understands that a ufc title is the one thing that has eluded him his entire career and I'm sure its what he wants most. Guess I'm just partial to guys who fight to fight. That said I have mad respect for dan. Imagine if he does win that fight. Titles in 3 major orgs. Would be hard to argue he wasn't the goat. Anderson would be the only question mark.
Win, lose, or draw that guy always comes to stand and wang.
I don't know what's more impressive, his chin, his power or his testosterone levels.
Waiting for a title shot is a mistake, he could end up like Rashad. Fight Bisping for contender status imo.
As much as I'd love to see Bizzy on the recieving end of another EPIC KO, he doesnt deserve a shot at Hendo......not that he did the first time either which became incredibly obvious. Dan has been crushing everyone and deserves his shot at Bones or Silva.
Dan has a very impressive resume and is a great representative for the sport when it comes to showing heart, determination and pure grit. However much he deserves a shot at the title (which he will undoubtedly get), in my humble opinion he's avoiding a fight with nog because of previous outcomes with both brothers. I don't blame him as he has (just like many of you mentioned) earned the right many times over to wait it out and choose his fights. This will give give him the time and preparation to train for a five round fight and really work on extending his gas tank so he doesn't exhaust himself like he did against rua.
