After beating Renato Babalu and Rafael Feijão both by knockout, Forty-year-old Dan Henderson added another belt to his collection: the Strikeforce light heavyweight one. An interview with the champion tipped to face Fedor Emelianenko in his next outing features on the pages of GRACIEMAG 169, now in bookstores.
“Jiu-Jitsu to me is key, combined with wrestling. Wrestling is a great foundation with which to control a fight, but you need Jiu-Jitsu or striking to finish the opponent. I love grappling, but the truth is I never put on a gi. I’d be lost in the gi!” remarks Henderson.
To help Hendo with his ground game, black belt Ricardo “Pantcho” Feliciano spares no effort. “Henderson would give a lot of guys a hard time if he were to compete in at No-Gi tournaments. He really likes grappling – training on the bottom too. He’d tap out a lot of black belts,” asserts Pantcho.
not surprising, he has trained no gi bjj for years w plenty of guys. So of course he could tap black belts, esp w his wrestling technique combined and work ethic.
Ramit (I assume), I'd love to see Hendo vs Bisping II, but what in God's name did Bisping do in their first fight, or since, to make you think it'd go any different? Hendo's gone 2-1 and fought for the title in two divisions, winning one. Bisping's gone 4-1, but Akiyama and Miller were coming off of a loss (two for Miller), and he lost to an over the hill Wand. He's been fighting progressively worse competition. It's a joke

We all would love too see Hendo/Bispping II, watching Hendo decapitate Bitchping again would be awesome
Wasa-B - Love Hendo but he's never showed a ground game
How many legit blackbelt level grapplers has he fought?
Nog 2x, Babalu 2x, Arona, Bustamante 2x, Rousimar, Anderson, Shields, Feijao, etc... and he's been subbed 3x in like 34 or 35 fights.
Dumb post is dumb.<br type="_moz" />
If someone was able to face that many good strikers and only got KOed the same amount of times but was never able to KO or beat anyone really standing, does that make them a good stand up fighter or exemplify a good standup game?
nowaydo - Surviving is different than having a true game.
Rampage out-grappled him and against Shields he looked clueless.
As long as Dan has been in the game, his ground game should be very high level, offensively.
I give him the benefit against Shields, he was def not all there for that one. However you're too observant if stating that he has no ground offense and that defense on its own does not really mean you got a complete ground game.
I love Dan and he is an all time great but he has never shown any offense on the ground other than following up on hurt or dropped opponents.
Its kinda funny cuz all the Quest/RAW guys went on from greco/wrestling to have completely diff strengths.
Randy used the clinch and developed his game beyond for excellent all round generalship.
Lindland developed the best subgrappling game by far.
Chael is the best pure and more intense GNPer though Randy was more methodical and less sub prone of course.
