Holland’s striking is dangerous but he just got dominated. Vettori still has work to do, but he’s clearly a legit contender at 185 and Holland has been shown to be a ways off yet. Still young though so we’ll see how he improves

Holland with TD defense is a title contender. Right now he’s an easy win for anyone that can wrestle.
Disappointed for Holland but it’s a wrestler’s game and he has to improve his wrestling to have any hope of being a top fighter.
The fact that a mediocre fighter like Vetorri is a contender at 185 tells u how far the division has fallen from the Weidman, Rockhold days.

Don’t see Vettori as mediocre at all. He’s strong, athletic, really good wrestling and grappling and decent striking with decent power. and solid gas tank And he’s 27. We’ll see if he keeps improving, but I’m not sure Weidman was that much better, he fell off a cliff. If you put him in that division right now he’d absolutely be top 10 at least imo

Don’t think it was that great a performance for Vittori, Brunson showed us that Holland has zero takedown defence a few weeks ago, so not overly impressed that he was able to wrestle him him to his second unanimous defeat in a month

Lmao apparently Weidman wasn’t that much better than Vettori, god to know. While we’re on the subject, I think this is a good time for me to point out that Erick Silva wasn’t that much better than Dennis Siver.
Holland’s striking was vastly better than Vettori’s. And Brunson’s. Obviously needs to learn to wrestle. TDD Holland could be this generations Liddell lol

Vettori always been a grapper, he reminds me of Chael Sonnen, very similar style.
And he already beat Adesanya, Vettori clearly won r2 and r3, i dont know what the hell the judges were watching.

Holland has smooth fast striking and a great high kick but I’m not so sure hed beat Marvin standing. Marvin kinda arm punches but that’s why he can just keep throwing with no power drop off. He seems to shrug off strikes from guys as good as Holland or even Izzy too.
I think if he strait stood with Holland he could get knocked out in the first half but if he wasn’t I think he’d just keep coming & he’d stay so close that Holland would fast lose his ability to explode. I’d say it’s 50/50 standing. Maybe 60/40 Holland.
Hopefully one day Holland will develop his TDD to the point where we can find out.
