shameful.
Imagine if you went to a basketball game where one team never tried to make a basket.

What are you yapping about?
Imagine if you went to a basketball game where one team utilized a strategy/gameplan to defeat the other team? That would be INSANE! If you could, imagine the opposing team not readjusting their own plan to try to win, ie being a one trick pony.
I always thought hit and runs were illegal?
Condit was the better game player, however Diaz is the better fighter. I honestly never thought I would see the day when Condit became a glorified point fighter. I have never been a Diaz fan honestly, but that was just sad. Condit clearly knew that he could not beat Diaz in a fight...he could not knock him out, or submit him...so he point fought him. He actually turned his back and ran away from that fight. It did give him the W, but he is certainly not the better fighter.

More like if the team that never tried to make a basket was chosen at the end of the game by the ref as the winner.

You do realize that the team that won actually made more baskets right lol?
Diaz fans and using logic are a bad mix I see.
Never tried to make a basket? What a terrible analogy. Condit was quite successful in hitting Nick in the face, and hugely successful with his kicks.
Sorry, just because you didn't get the brawl you wanted, doesn't mean that Condit wasn't scoring points and winning the fight.
"You do realize that the team that won actually made more baskets right lol?"
Unless Condit has an extra limb growing out of his back, that's an impossibility.

It's impossible if you can't count, yes.
Stick to using horrible analogies and leave logic and such things to the grownups.

Backing up and running is stalling...I think warnings should be given and pts deducted for it. I
No, using the octagon to get away, circle, setup angles and things is not "stalling".
Go back to watching toughman contests.

Very poor analogy
Diaz got hit more. If anything, Condit scored more "baskets".
If you don't like the way a particular fighter fought then you just need to go watch bum fights because you clearly don't appreciate the sport.
Typical UG.
thirdleg - This whole ordeal has made me disgusted with the average MMA fan.
Has it made you disgusted with most of the professional fighters that thought Condit didn't deserve the win as well? I don't hate anyone that thinks Condit won. I can understand that people have a difference of opinion, however I just personally don't agree with it. I don't think it is blind nut hugging either because I have never really been a big Diaz fan. I always believed he was just a big fish in a small pond, however he deserved the W last night.
Soul Gravy - Imagine if you went to a basketball game where one team never tried to make a basket.
in a manner of speaking, this used to happen often... it was called "four corners" and an inferior team would pass the ball around endlessly, running the clock down as much as possible before going for a high percentage shot... it made for extremely boring and low scoring games... so they created the shot clock...
the same thing will be necessary for MMA if they truly want to make the sport more fan friendly...
but I can't blame any fighter or trainer for exploiting the rules to get a competitive advantage... not that I enjoy watching their fights (and certainly won't purchase PPVs with some people in them) but I can't blame their philosophy...
If you thought Nick won last night. WWE is the place for you. Not MMA! Carlos fought a great fight! And Won!

For truth
Other camps have excellent strategies as well that dont involve running or trying not to finish a fight. Even when a jackson fighter has a guy stunned or is unloading and could go for a finish, jackson coaches them to get out. Looks more like a point contest.
