How did Bob Sapp beat Ernesto Hoost twice?

and go down to everyone else for the rest of his career from a little tap to the face?

He took a ton of shots from hoost in both fights, did he just never fight a legit fight again or lost something mentally? I don't get it...

He also gave a prime Nog a beating of a life time before he got tired and got tapped.

He started throwing fights. There is no other reason he started doing so bad, he was cashing in on the name he made for himself when he would bum rush people and actually fight them. And thats how he beat hoost. The dude was just such a tank and kept coming forward throwing punches it overwhelmed people Phone Post 3.0

He used to try

Cause he's a "Beast" Phone Post 3.0

There are weight divisions for a reason.
Technique trumps size MOST of the time...
But his was too big and too strong that even just winging huge punches, he could take out a lot of guys that were MUCH better fighters than him. Even punches that were blocked still did damage.

And yea he started cashing in big time. A lot of spectators like the underdog story. Beating a 400lb muscle bound monster fits the underdog story pretty good. Phone Post 3.0

He had some top notch creatine too Phone Post 3.0

When he first started fighting, when nobody knew who he was, he fought like his life was on the line, and he was a force of destruction. However, everything changed once he became a huge celebrity in Japan. While appearing on Japanese TV shows and commercials, he just fought to earn his next paycheck while taking the least amount of damage possible. Actually, before that, he continued to take fighting seriously (learning proper striking and submissions), but I think he realized at one point that he didn't want to fight anymore; he had too much money and fame to risk harming his body. However, his fame came from being a fighter, so he had no choice but to continue fighting. So he would just give up, often feigning injury, after taking minimal damage in order to avoid having a long drawn-out war and risk potential injuries. As a fighter, fame was probably the worst thing for him. However, as a person, he seems to enjoy being an entertainer/celebrity much more than a fighter. If you watch his interviews and ignore his "beast" persona, you can tell that he's actually an intelligent guy.

bob sapp had a huge size and strength advantage. he also actively trained at that time. sapp got paired with hoost immediately. sapp wasnt your typical opponent which made him a big wild card for hoost/nogueira to prepare for. everyone else was able to watch and learn from sapp's first few successes and how to deal with him. that combined with the fact he stopped training was his downfall.

not trying to be disrespectful, but any chance Hoost took a dive?

Unlikely.  Watching it doesn't look like a dive.  More importantly it wouldn't make a lot of sense.  Hoost lost to Sapp then got into the tournament due to Semmy Schilt being injured and faced Sapp again.  He lost a 2nd time but Sapp couldn't continue the tournament due to injury so Hoost went on in his place and won the tourney by beating Sefo and Le Banner.  Guys that are set to take dives in the opening round don't turn around and win tournaments.

He got his brains bashed in.

Sapp had over 100lbs of muscle on hoost so theres that. And god knows what else he was on in the ring. Phone Post 3.0
