how good IS dennis kang anyway?

Kang is an incredible fighter.

He will prove himself to be the best in the world given time.

I saw Kang fight for the first time live 8 years ago. He has came long ways and very happy for the man. Kang just has entered the league of top MWT with that victory over Ninja. Ninja never really got off anything. Big right hand cross to the temple was all she wrote.

TTT for Kang

Very intense to roll with, no question that he's a Black Belt.

I wan't to go to Japan now to see him win this thing!
I also wouls like the $$$ to go to Japan.

Go Denis!

"He will prove himself to be the best in the world given time."

Will he be fighting Franklin given time? Planning on making his way to the UFC given time? Even if were to win this GP which is far from a guarantee, would that automatically make him the best in the world at his weight? I really can't go along with that.

"Kang received his black belt last year and has serious striking abilities. His fight with Doerksen is probably the most action packed fight i've ever seen. He only tapped in the triangle because his jaw was broken."

was a great fight, and would have loved to have seen a rematch.

I think he is very good in striking. His punches looked really good even
though they weren't flush they were thrown with good timing and good
technique. Straight and powerful punches. He's also a good athlete, and
seems to be good on the ground. I don't know if he can win the whole
tourney, but I'm sure he has the tools to do it. People that keep talking
about a "lucky punch" probably don't train striking at all.

I dont think anyone is doubting that Kang has improved from his UCC days. It's a good reminder to a lot of people out there of how fighters can evolve, and that you shouldn't look to write a fighter off if he takes some losses early into his career. Kang right now looks to be in his prime.

"Kang right now looks to be in his prime."

True Dat!!! Kick ass Denis!!!

"He is certainly a quality fighter, but definitely not at the top in the
division. Anyone can be caught with one big shot, and that is exactly what
happened in the Ninja fight."

I agree that anyone can get caught with a big shot. But your statement on
another thread that Ninja would beat Kang 14 out of 15 times was just
ridiculous. And you must not train any serious striking to say that it was
a lucky punch. In the fight you see Dennis in rhythm and timing the
punch perfectly. It's a straight punch right down the middle that catches
Ninja. Great timing, and good technique= lucky punch to you I guess.

But the more skill one has the luckier one seems to get.

Also, Ninja has not shown anything in his last several fights. Isn't his
record something like 3-6 the last 9 fights. I actually don't think this win
over Ninja is huge as people are making it out to be. I expected him to
win. I want to see how he does against Filho or Hendo.

I noticed that Dendawg doesn't come on here anymore. That's probably why his game has gone to a new level.

I remember training with Denis since he was just a blue belt. The guy is a stud no doubt.

ttt

denis will win the tournament

I don't remember Semenov taking Kang down in their fight in Bushido. I never saw their 1st match though

ttt

ttt

paulo will hold him down for as long as the ref lets him

BANG BANG! GO DENNIS KANG! HANKOOK HOMIE!

skeet skeet

Dennis has skyrocketed in terms of improvement. Watching him against Doerksen was like watching a different person. His striking specially has improved a great deal. Him and Doerksen duked it out back then like two brawlers. Now his striking looks great in MMA. I'm sure his ground game got even better with the type of sparring partners he's got with ATT.
