This is the type of cynical mismatch where the commission should step in and say "NO". It's not a competitive match based on their recent body of work. This is unfair to the fans that bought a ticket and unfair to Brandon Vera.
If I wanted to watch matches with predetermined outcomes, I'd watch WWE.

they were going to do Thiago vs Vera before they were going to do Thiago vs Shogun, so Shogun vs Vera makes sense.

Its mma, anything can happen. Vera has a chance, he's a skilled striker with lots of experience. Shogun should win but he's looked bad against opponents he should have beat in the past [Griffen, Coleman]. One thing is, this will be exciting.
