vera just has to fight free like he used to
he has all the skillz, hell hes one of the top all rounded fighters out there... and before you laugh, think..
striking- nobody will disagree its tops in the division, meaning top 2-5.
wrestling- very good and underratted, olympic training.
jitz, llyod irvin brown belt, very slick
hes just had bad luck imo
The Truth will come through, this will be a stand up war.
Bobby Lupo - This is the worst UFC matchmaking since Hornstein-Coleman/Kerr
Hahahah
RIP Brandon Vera
First death in the UFC
Jeez, Brandon is a professional that accepts the bout and wants to fight, people need to calm down and let it happen! Recent injuries and the training time prevented other fighters from stepping in for Silva, so Vera is who Shogun got if he wanted to fight. I am starting to hope for a hail mary KO for Brandon over Shogun just to shut up all of these overdramatic idiots who would rather see no fight then this one!
Shogun vs Bonnar would have been better
Joshua J King - Loopz, does this have anything to do with Maricio Milani Rua's Italian decent? If so I can understand but counting out a striker like Vera isn't smart. All that aside, shogun via well roundedness and brutality. Vera can't pull the trigger anymore. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
Sempre. Vera is also half Italian, but he turned his back on the Italian side and reps his Filipino half. Whatever makes him happy.
Vera was never the well rounded fighter Rogan and the UFC made him out to be. Even if he was, all traces of that guy were gone once he took that year off. Brandon Vera 2012 is an above average striker at 205 with some of the best kicks in the division, but he's been gunshy and you can't do that against Shogun.
Shogun will catch a kick, throw a right bomb, knock Vera down and GnP him out early in the first. Like a Silva-Irvin type deal

Hahahah
Who did Moti piss off to deserve that? Hornstein-Mezger would have been awesome. He would have had some standup wars if he was matched up right, but they fed him to the lions.
Jonesbonedpage - Shogun vs Bonnar would have been better![]()
I would have preferred this.
I cant call it until i see of were dealing with. Love handle shogun, or the killer that beat machida 2x
Brandon Vera loves easy fights !
Not much more a mismatch than GSP vs Serra IMO
I think this will be more competitive than people are anticipating. Shogun will still win IMO, but it is not going to be as one sided as Jones-Vera.
Shogun needs a confidence building fight.
absoluteidiot - Shogun needs a confidence building fight. That's what the second Forrest fight was

RandyDarsh -And the second Coleman matchabsoluteidiot - Shogun needs a confidence building fight. That's what the second Forrest fight was

Meh....it's a fight, ya never know... Shogun turned down Glover Texiera.... so...
On paper it is a complete an utter mismatch - that is not whining..
Shogun's Resume even with the losses is so stacked with Champion fighters he still remains elite and in the top 5 LHW's Worldwide.
Vera is sadly not relevant in the sport anymore and has a sad last 5 fights or so.. Ranked 27th!!
jjj2121 -player101 - I would have MUCH rather seen Phil Davis vs Shogun. What happened with that? Phil is available and fighting on the same card.
Main Event: Machida vs Bader
Co-Main: Davis vs Shogun
FUEL TV Prelims/Facebook: Vera vs Wagner Prado
Wonder why they ended up with the fights looking the way they do instead of this. Maybe Shogun didn't want a wrestler?
This
Vera by TKO, you heard it here third...
