I figured out why people doubt weidman

At least why i did. i "joined the team" after machida, but looking through his record:

W sakara then bongfeldt then lawlor.

Short notice decision over maia ok not bad.

Ko over munoz. Good guy but never top tier.

Then beats the GOAT? Twice? That's incredibly hard to grasp and I can see why people thought it was a fluke. To go from middle of the pack guys to beating the GOAT at 9-0. If he had bigger name wins pre Anderson noone would be doubting Phone Post 3.0

TLDR answer: because they're dumb. Phone Post 3.0

I've been on the bandwagon since he outgrappled Maia and I'd never heard of him before, then I went back and saw his D'Arce choke on Lawlor and I was set. Him destroying Munoz's skull set the icing on the cake for me as a fan. But going into his bouts with Anderson, I was supporting Anderson like I only knew how. And both fights leave a lot of bitter tastes in peoples mouth.

In the first fight where you can make a case for Anderson winning the fight before doing his Ali impression and it just seems like a bad victory due to the way Anderson presented himself the 30 seconds before the knockout. The second was Weidman's chance to redeem himself and in a fight he was clearly winning it was stopped due to an accident so again there's no proof for a lot of people that Weidman's the better fighter.

Unfortunately for Weidman his fights with Anderson will never go down the way he wanted, there'll always be what if involved in it. Hell, even if he had dominated Anderson twice the mast majority of us would have attributed Anderson's age into the entire thing, I'll happily admit that I probably would have used it as an excuse when the fights first happened.

You can't discredit Weidman's achievements since, he had a classic fight with Machida that should go down as one of the most entertaining & competitive title fights in the MW division ever and then he just had a solid comeback TKO against Old new TNT Vitor, his legacy shouldn't be defined by taking down the GOAT, his legacy should be defined by how well he wears that belt.

JOIN THE TEAM DAMN IT.

Good post. Insightful. Phone Post 3.0

Huge Weidman fan but that 2nd fight with Anderson didn't help. IMO he would've beat him anyway. I think Rockhold is a huge test for him, I want Chis to won but I see Luke taking it based on the stand-up alone.

I had a hard time believing Silva would get destroyed a third time considering how the other 2 fights went down. Now I believe Chris will make it look easy like he beat Vitor.

After he beat Maia on short notice and knocked Munoz out I knew that was that. I hate how to this day everyone still doubts him, no matter who he beats if he even ends up losing only 10 seconds of a fight people will comment on that, looking for anything to put him down. He isn't going to lose to the current roster at MW, sorry to say Phone Post 3.0

Sure that could be the case. I quite like wiseman that jersey accent is hilarious and he plays Fifa with a passion what's not to love.
Imo why the hate is strong. Is the flag being draped over him after every fight. It's like fuck you to all those whom don't live in the states. Needs to kick his dad out the octagon and stand strong as the champ of the world not the champ of usa. Phone Post 3.0

I think Rockhold or Jacare (whoever gets the fight) ends his reign.

I still doubt him and it will take a win over a top fighter in his prime for me to think he's as good as he says he is Phone Post 3.0

He won't lose to anyone in the current MW division. Rockhold will be the closest fight, but he still won't win Phone Post 3.0

I think Jacare would have the better chance at taking it from Weidman. Dude has some nice power on the feet and has some really wide, looping shots that could always catch Weidman and he'd have a nice advantage on the ground of Weidman if he could get it there, I'd doubt his abilities to be very effective if Weidman were the one on top of him though.

Interested in what you say, can you communicate with me now?

All the best,

Rockhold has the best chance, maybe jacare can catch him? doubtfull though. Chris is going to be the GOAT and hold that belt for the next 5 years.

Weidman out wrestles Jacare & Rockhold. And he out strikes Jacare.
