He did flatten Franklin faster than Silva did.
You just never know w/ Vitor. He's capable of beating anyone on any given night.
Unfortunately he's just as likely to not show up for a big fight too.
Morgz - I don't disagree...but this past weekend should tell you that ANYTHING can happen in the fight game. I didn't think Melvin Guillard had a snowball's chance in hell of beating Dunham, and we all know what happened now. Favorite or not, anything can happen.
I think do honestly think Anderson Silva is going win, but Vitor has better than a punchers chance to win this.

- Anderson is the proven entity, Vitor while showing maturity and signs of finally putting it together has not yet met championship/elite consistency
- Anderson has shown he can win by more than one method, while Vitor is the more "rounded" guy in that he has better wrestling but Anderson has shown better subs so....
- Anderson has shown he can go 5 rounds, Vitor has never won a war
- Vitor is the first real elite striker Anderson will face (Henderson has the power, Franklin was one of the better strikers of that time, Marquart is good/not great) so he can finally see Anderson's striking tested
Vitor is the more explosive striker but Anderson has more dexterity and depth imo
- Is Anderson showing signs of age and wear/tear? Or was he just under tear going into the Chael fight?

Guys like Maia and Sonnen tagged Anderson repeatedly on the feet. Belfort is 100x faster, more accurate, and more powerful than those guys. Dangerous fight for Anderson.

Clueless? First of all, I was asking and fully admitted that I didnt know much about his history, so that makes you a chest beating internet homo who wants to look cool.
But after looking at Vitor's record to see if you knew what you were talking about, it appears that you dont (verifying to me and everyone else that you are in fact, a chest beating internet homosexual).
Vitor's 'streak' is comprised of 5 wins over the last ~5 years, with no fights in 2010. By that logic, I have a hell of an aging streak going, aging 5 years in the last 5 years. My point is, that is hardly a streak, especially since all but 2 of those wins are against less than stellar opponents.
So next time, you may want to save some time and effort and just type that you want to fellate Vitor.

I dont know everything about MMA, so if he has been building a fight record consistently somewhere over the last several years, my bad.
BUT why did he leapfrog other challengers and get this shot? Is it because Anderson has beaten everyone else? What makes anyone think that an old Vitor would have any sort of shot at this? I mean, I like Vitor alot and I hope he wins. I was watching the UFC when he first came on the scene and he was just awesome.
But in 2011? What exactly is going on here? Can someone please help me to understand?

Sub'd. Taking Anderson btw - Belfort has no heart and will fold as soon as he realizes he cannot blitz Silva standing. Silva will pick him apart IMO.

Also Vitor only finished Rich cause he hit him to the side/back of the head that started the downfall.
Shot was too flukey to bring merit to his title shot.
-Been off for 18 months or so come fight time.
-Coming off injuries.
-Left Tompkins.
-Silva will be out for blood after his last fight.
-Hasn't fought at 185 in 2 years, hell him making weight would surprise me.

Vitor has to win before the end of the 2nd round or it simply isn't going to happen. My heart says "Vitor", but my brain says that a guy that was blowing up fighters in 1996 isn't going to beat the very best (or at least top #2) fighter in the entire sport in 2011.
