Morgz - I don't disagree...but this past weekend should tell you that ANYTHING can happen in the fight game. I didn't think Melvin Guillard had a snowball's chance in hell of beating Dunham, and we all know what happened now. Favorite or not, anything can happen.

Me too...and I think Vitor has the tools to do it. Also, like a few others have mentioned, fighters with less striking talent than Vitor have gotten to Anderson. -- which would make one think Vitor should too. But Anderson has just had this way of winning every single UFC fight he's been in. Until he loses, I don't see how he can't be the favorite.
All that said, I really want to see someone solve the puzzle. I

Franklin was 32 and 33 when he faced Anderson.
Franklin was almost 36 when he faced Vitor.
Perhaps it's just me, but little facts like these might matter.
Anderson wins.
You can't begin to compare their wins. Also, Vitor hasn't fought in almost a year and 5 months!
And Vitor is almost 34, no spring chicken himself, yeah?
Vitor has only a very small chance against the top striker at 185.
As others have said, anything can happen and Vitor is certainly capable of 'catching' Anderson in the first two rounds. He can't win a war and the other factors are stacked against him. Long layoff, injuries, making weight. And did I mention... He has to fight Anderson Silva?

MMA is one, if not, THE most inconsistent sport on this planet.
I wouldnt be suprised if Vitor ends this in a minute.
And in this inconsistent sport, Vitor is its most inconsistent fight(well...maybe other than Keith Jardine)
And the other has been the most consistent UFC fighter, im not sure what timing is up for this fight though. Part of me thinks the moment for an upset came and past within 25 last August.

But Vitor has never won a war. He can catch anyone though Anderson aint Franklin either.
The thing that really got me about that fight with Forrest was that Forrest wasn't just throwing wild haymakers! He was still throwing some nice fast punches, keeping his hands up by his face. And Anderson STILL clowned him.
Everyone should remember that the "old Vitor" was a juiced up 19 year old who built much of his reputation against Tank Abbott, Scott Ferrozzo, Tre Telligman and Jon Hess. He's come up small in most of his fights against top guys for his entire career.
That said, anything can happen but I'm guessing Anderson handles him easily.
