Is Florian supposed to be a a BJJ Black belt?

just rewatched the penn/florian fight and as soon as BJ picked up kenny and threw him to the ground into half guard florian seemed to panic and have no idea what to do. he looked like a white belt once on the ground. anyone else notice that?

thats how most black belts look against a guy like BJ

White belt? You've never trained a day in your life, have you?

You certainly are the trollish type, huh?

bj hips will make someone look like a white belt. the hips of a world class black belt do things you can't see.

Let me explain this to you.  He had BJ PENN on top of him.  Love him or hate him, he's a freaking monster on the ground.  It's like Basketball.  Imagine you practice hard everyday and become decent...can you ever get to the NBA based just on hard work?  Probably not, but maybe.  Can you become Michael Jordan from just hard work?  No.  Some people just have sick natural talent.  BJ does.  Kenny does not.

He is not only a talented BJJ Black Belt, he is well respected by any other BJJ Black Belts. No shame in struggling on the ground with BJ Penn since he is probably one of the best in the world on the mats.

Honestly, what is there not to understand about BJ's top game?

STFU,because apparently you have no clue wtf you are talking about.

Wow. I guess it's over for Kenny, now.

IP, wtf are you talking about?

I'm not saying Florian sucks.  Just that his BJJ is not on the same level as Penn due to Penn's natural talent.  Florian will beat 90% of guys at 155.  But he'll have a hard time with Penn on the ground every time.  I was trying to illustrate the difference between hard work and hard work+insane talent.

but didn't kenny say he has better jiu jitsu than BJ and that he will beat him skill by skill, round by round?

then why did he look like an amatuer as soon as it hit the ground and why did he seem to panic and not know what to do for the life of him? horrible defense, no attacking from the bottom whatsoever. he curled up into a ball on the ground even before he recieved any real damage, it seemed he was afraid all the sudden. even against BJ i would have expected more from a high level BJJ black belt like florian. it was amazing that level of dominance once it hit the ground. i guess i thought kenny's BJJ was at a higher level than it was, at least according to him and his camp.

97% IMO

the way BJ destroyed K-LO on the ground was embarrassing

It was insanely impressive how BJ just went for the one takedown, got it, and that was all he needed to finish it.

Picked his spot and executed flawlessly.

First I think kenny was not confident at all, and being very tentative.

second, as much as I hate the crybaby bj, i don't deny his incredible talent.

just because you don't understand what your'e watching doesn't make Kenny bad.

Also, Kenny didn't panic.  If you know BJJ, you can see that he was doing everything right.  But you'll also notice that BJ's mount-to-back-to-mount-to-back transitions were insane.  You don't see that even at BB level everyday.  Fortunately for MMA, there are guys like BJ Penn who are incredible at one skill area and allow us to see greatness instead of what is the normal MMA fight of someone attempting submissions while someone else attempts ground and pound for 3 rounds until it goes to decision.

There's levels in Jiu-jitsu and BJ's a notch above Kenny. He's a notch above most in the world.

I'm with you dude, your post came over like Florian will never get past a certain point with this BJJ. I was trying to make a funny comment (that apparently, didn't come across as funny).

I agree with your general theory, however.

Thanks.  And from this day henceforth, you shall be known as IPaddress.

I bet you think Fedor hasn't fought any good fight fighters either
