Joe Schilling sleeps drunk guy at bar

Anytime a fighter and trained killer punches a civilian with zero training it’s a sucker punch even if the guy sees it coming

I think Eskimo is right that there’s a difference between 1) a punch when two guys are face to face and the guy who gets hit flexes and 2) a punch that comes absent confrontation or from behind.

Both might be sucker punches depending on your personal definition. But, it seems there is a spectrum: 1) punch absent conflict or from behind; 2) two guys face to face jawing at one another, punch; 3) genuine mutual combat.

Guy flinched at joe though. That will be the basis of his defense. Also, that bar better have some damn good insurance. This guy’s atty will have him going to his personal buddies that are “specialists” and say he can’t work, can’t have sex, can’t concentrate" because of his head injury. I see shit like this all the time.

The bar is negligent in overserving him and then not intervening when it was clear he was causing problems.

Exactly.

Even a guy in an MMA fight doesnt expect to get KOed. But he is aware it could happen by being inside an active octagon.

This dude yelled at joe, squared up and tried to make him flinch or braced him or whatever.

He probably thought joe would flinch and he could have a nate diaz point at him moment. But if you are squared up with someone and make a flinchy move it can not at that point be a sucker punch.

This is emotional not logical.

Stop feeling and start thinking.

Better than a doo-doo breath!

Seriously though man I understand if you think it was uncalled for behavior by joe, but to call it a sucker punch is a terrible hot take.

It’s not a black guy sucker punch where you run from behind a guy and launch a shot.

It definitely is a sucker punch in terms of, Joe planned on punching this guy 20 minutes before it happened. The drunk dude was just happy and having a good time. He was unaware that a pro fighter was plotting to bump him and goad him until he did so much as breathe hard in his general direction l, at which point he would use that as an excuse to tee off on the guy.

If your problem is the semantics, because you have some autistically rigid definition, then cool. It’s still at least as much of a sucker punch as a non-sucker punch could possibly be.

No such thing as a sucker punch when you are face to face and then try to make another grown ass man flinch. Wtf is this 8th grade. I swung on it tackled anyone that tries that shit with me as a youth because my dad taught me defend YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES 1st, and figure out the rest later.

Let’s not act like that you couldn’t have jumped on joe from behind if he just turned an walked away or ignored him. Dude was crazy no matter how drunk he was to think his little soft doughy self was gonna so shut to anyone that looked anything like joe weather pro or Untrained.

Plus all the text about how he is an abuse asshole to women and just an overall prick make me fee even better about the whole thing.

Hope this ends up like the “Mma brothers vs football queers” in that college bar bathroom

You want to explain to us all here why you feel it was Joe’s job or even his right to “check” this drunk guys actions? 6 years as a bouncer and that is a shitty attitude to have towards patrons. The opus falls on the establishment to make a safe environment for their patrons. They admitted the guy is a regular and that he regularly gets intoxicated. Which means they are as much at fault for the situation as Joe.

That is on them, not Joe. Joe forced himself into a situation for what ever reason and should face the consequences as so should the establishment. It’s not his job to handle or check or what ever else you want to call it. Not to mention it almost looks like this was staged by or for Joe. If you feel your about to be accosted by someone and “feared” for you life. You dont instigate a fight. You walk away. The moment he turned back around to confront the dude he became the aggressor. Plain and simple.

Doesnt matter what the dude said or did. Doesnt matter if the manager asked for your help or not. It doesnt matter if the guy flexed, flinched, postured up or pulled his dick out and told Joe to suck me off beautiful. None of those are a valid reason to hit or assault someone.

Now for all you hard assess out there who live by the “code of the street”. Not once has that ever mattered in a court of law. Let that sink in for a moment. Joe had the option to walk away. He instead decided to confront the guy and had by all accounts someone waiting to video tape the guys reaction. You just cant do that these days and not expect to face the consequences.

You want to teach the guy a lesson? Over charge his tab and tell him to go kick rocks and ban his ass from the establishment. This looks like a situation where the bar has acknowledged they over served him and then half heartedly tried to cover their tracks by taking joe’s side. Rule number 1 of running a bar. NEVER, EVER, allow two patrons to throw down inside your bar. Not only does it put your business at risk for lawsuits but it drives away customers at the same time. Take it outside, never inside. 6 years of bouncing and you should know that. Have you never watched the documentary Road House before?

Does Joe normally ask his pals to film him coming back from the restroom?

Does that strike those defending him as odd?

Unfortunately him being an abusive ahole to women has absolutely.nothng to do with what happened. Your trying to insert silly emotions in an attempt to justify someone being assaulted. Even if he told Joe he would skull fuck the fat bish (I dont know if she was a fat bish) he was with. It still not a valid and defendable excuse for knocking the dude out. Not to mention most drunk fooks like that are as soft as they come. It makes Joe’s case even worse as he is a professional fighter and should be held to a higher standard then most due mainly in part to his training. Which is what the guys lawyers and most likely a judge is going to say.

You cant just go around smacking people around because they are being drunk aholes and not expect there to be some legal action involved.

Yes, you’re misunderstanding of what it means by “expects to be hit” is the problem here. We’re just going to disagree, no big deal.

How do you know the dude had no training???

You don’t.

I could say the same back, but I’d prefer to rely on video evidence the man wasn’t prepared or expected to be hit (his hands were down by his side, his stance was square and not ready to strike or be striked, etc.).

Good. I assume Schilling has a criminal record of some sort?

Schilling had no intention of teaching a lesson or eliminating evil— he wanted to flex his kickboxing skills on a much smaller drunk guy . And film it and brag about it online. To think he sees this as being ‘fine’ or ‘cool’ says so much about him

He clearly flexed on Joe. Green light given…
