Josh maybe got a decent signing bonus and who knows if Bellator does post fight bonuses like the UFC.

orcus -I totally agree with what you are saying in terms of the risk but i do feel there is now a door opened for competitors that has never existed before.I Got extendos, I GOT EXTENDOS! - Regardless of the real figures the other orgs just haven't been able to compete with the UFC in any facet.
With the new reebok sponsorship that seem to be so much less compared
To the sponsorship $ on offer previously has now opened the door for these other organisations to at least dangle a carrot worth serious consideration for fighters.
It's risky though. "Sign with us! We will pay you peanuts, but maybe you can get some other guys to make up the shortfall!"

Think of it like this. The show did 800,000 viewers.
At $35,000 that company only has to sell a t-shirt or shorts to 1,750 fans at $20 a buy to get their $35,000 back.
Thats less than 1 percent of viewers and a steal for that company based on the exposure.

I have a friend in different business and she explained the same thing to me about paying known people to wear their merchandise and how they actually get the money back by even or with some profit and the same time they get to promote and market it to bigger prospects.

Good point. Maybe he was comparing it to the UFC offering him nothing, which would make it much more lucrative.

Wow josh Thompson left for just 10k and sponsors? He was making 50k in UFC with out sponsors! It's about the same why not stay on the biggest stage in the world
