Watch how calmly he passes the guard. His base is sick. The collar choke at the end was nuts. It was like I am going to choke you now and you will not be able to defend it. Such a basic game with little weight adjustments here and there. I love this.
Classic lesson on the importance of being able to maintain position. Kron was able to attempt the same choke several times before he finally sunk it in.
Rickson was also very cool to both athletes.
As for the title, "incredible" may be a bit strong. The game he is playing is very, very solid (obviously). But go back and watch this again, this time imagining him in the absolute division. I see the game he is playing as potentially very hard to "enforce" upon larger opponents.
He gets in dangerous positions a few times, and does not really seem to have that many options when passing. It obviously works for him, duh, but I just don't know how it will translate against (1) more technical black belts his own size, and (2) really large/strong/fast black belts who may be as technical as he is.

I think Otavio used alot more tech but Kron has a solid pass and base with good holding mount position.
Otavio used the wrong stratergy imo I would like to see Kron on his back and escape position... maybe Otavio has to work more takedowns to make this happen.
It is always hard to sub a Gracie they all have very good defence imo. I know they have been subbed before but I bet Kron has a good defence in a bad spot.
I think Otavio will beat Kron one day, it is good for the two, and great to see the young guns ruck, very strategic.
The only person who is going to beat Kron at brown belt is someone with better takedowns and the goal of stalling once he's ahead. I dont see anyone at brown being able to really go after him without being caught. He's going to be tough for most black belt stand outs, much less anyone at brown.
