Sorry guys, I got the Facebook link from my girlfriend, but it is a closed group FB page for women only, so you won't be able to access the page.

Here is the latest update:

Update on Luis from a BJJ friend:
"Guys, I was just in a conference with the neurosurgeon & family. They said his prognosis is very bad. Basically they said that there is nothing that they can do to improve his condition & that they've never seen someone with injuries such a...s his survive & recover. At this time, he's still on life support. All we can do is continue to pray & hope for the best. Sorry to be the bearer of bad need, but I know you all want to know what's going on. Luis has a great support group of friends, family, & students."

Terrible news, so unfortunate. My thoughts go out to his family, students, and friends.

Prayers out to Sucuri, family and academy.

Armando

This is very sad to hear.

My thoughts are with his family. Stuff like this makes you realize how fragile life is and how each day should be enjoyed.

Met him a few times, very nice guy. This is horrible news.

Wow.. Attended a seminar he did this past Saturday up in Syracuse.. This is very sad, he was a very upbeat and smart teacher.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends now. Phone Post

Thoughts are with him and his family. Luis is a great guy.

Also, he is no longer with Alliance. It's now Sucuri BJJ.

terrible news.

I never met him but the first time I saw many of the
Techniques I use on a regular basis were in pictorials of him back on the old in the guard site. My prayers are with him and those close to him.

Just terrible.

Prayers sent.

This is very sad news that has hit us at Sucuri BJJ very hard. Luis has not only been a great instructor to us all but a great friend as well. Please keep "Sucuri" in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.

ttt

Luis was here this weekend for an amazing seminar. I still can't believe this is real..

Man that's absolutely tragic news. Heart felt thoughts to him and his family.

I remember studying his techniques religiously from the old Bjj.org site.

Got to know him through his contributions to Onthemat.com over the years, got to meet in person a few time on my journeys. Terrible news. My thoughts and prayers to him, his academy and family.

Is there any place with more updated news on his status?
