If you re-watch the Diaz fight he was even winning that fight in round 1. Then you could see him pull the usual shit where he starts to wilt early into the 2nd and by the 3rd he's a gassed punching bag who can take unreal amounts of damage just trying to make it to the end.
If his cardio is where it needs to be, he will win this fight. Rory is not going to outskill him. He won't sub him and he won't hurt him on the feet.

That loss can't be blamed solely on endurance, sorry. The same BJ that beat Sherk, Florian, and Diego would have lost that fight to the superior boxer in Diaz.

I have always respected BJ Penn's skills, but have always found it hard to root for him due to his on-camera persona. There always seems to be an excuse and/or sense of entitlement regarding fights that don't go his way.
But the thing is, BJ has been at the top of the pile for so long that perhaps he has earned the right to feel like what is his is his.
Rory has not. And yet I'm sensing the same kind of attitude from Rory, as though winning this fight is his due. But he's new to the game compared to BJ.
I'm having a hard time rooting for any particular fighter here. But I'm pumped for the fight itself, because these are two serious men with serious skills.
No matter who loses the fight, MMA fans win, because it's going to be an awesome fight. That's all I know for certain.
