This a bad matchup for Chael! Machida may not submit him, or knock him out, but Machida's takedown defense is awesome. He may not prevent the intial takedown, but he does get back up pretty fast. Reminds me of Chuck Liddell to be honest with you.

jct71 - Machida may have even better takedown defense than Anderson as well. Bad fight for Sonnen.MAY HAVE? Anderson's TDD was just plain bad (looks like it's better after watching the Vitor fight... he sprung right back up). If you get ahold of Andy you can get him down, but his reflexes, hand positioning, and his footwork make that really hard to do.
Lyoto on the other hand has equally good footwork, and his clinch defense is strong. Very hard to get control of.

The thing about the standup is that sonnen will bumrush him and probably walk through macidas punches to get the takedown similar to the Anderson fight. However It's still very possible that machida will triangle hom.
One of them would win a boring decision. The real question is if it'd still get 5 round status even though they don't deserve it.
