i duno i just was thinking of his competitors and figured it would be cool to list the notable people then i remembered hes trained with alot of well known ppl aswell and added them to the list, i guess if youve trained with or competed against mg share your stories,pics and vids if you have em here!!

I dont know if I ever told this story here before but I will, he had dinner at my house after a seminar at our school. We had a group of people over to eat with him. We ordered thai food, and when we brought it back and placed it in the kitchen, everyone came in and started picking through it looking for their food. He came right in and at the time my fiances cat was a kitten, Marcelo laid eyes on the kitten and backed up immediately. I asked him what the problem was, he said he didnt like cats because they had claws, made the claw sign with his hand, took his food and vanished into my living room with the rest of the crowd with a hurried pace.
It was a weird thing to witness. He has competed against a whos who in grappling and my womans kitten put the fear of god in him.

if I ever compete against Marcello, I will have kitten patches all over my gi and will utilze clawing tecniques.

He's been busy teaching and training. His academy in NYC is getting really big. They just changed their schedule, and have bjj classes up to 7 times a day.
In terms of competition, I know he's definitely competing in ADCC (probably Sept 2011) and the Mundials (June 2011)...dont know about any other tournaments.
I've been thinking a lot recently about a match-up between Marcelo and Telles, and how that would go, I don't think they've ever faced each other (could be wrong). Marcelo so aggressive, Telles so passive. Telles gives the back without a second thought, while the back is still Marcelo's strongest finishing position. Telles nearly puts himself in crucifix positions all the time to escape, while Marcelo is relentless with his crucifix attack. Whose game would prevail?
