This is the narrative. Stopped Aldo and St-Pierre's historic win streaks. The last guy to beat Max Holloway at 145 pounds. Stopped Poirier and Mendes, defeated Diaz.

Quite the accolades.

GSP surviving that onslaught is one of the most impressive moments of his career. Condit was a freaking killer–one of the best finishers in MMA. He hit Georges with a Hail Mary and GSP survived and continued pummeling him.

Georges – like Dustin Porrier-- is a guy who we saw get tougher as his career progressed.

Also, Georges smashes Conor.

Will the people claiming this disregard GSP as quickly as they did Aldo after McGregor beat him? Or Conor after Khabib beat him?

No.

Georges can lose 20 fights in a row.

Still the GOAT.

For Firas:

Where do they fight?  155?  If so, and Conor is motivated, he may be tough to beat.  St Pierre has seemed less and less dominant with every fight and is getting much older.  Going down and winning versus going up can be much harder when you get older, as speed is comprimised - ask Dilly, BJ and Rashad.  GSP will be slower than ever and weaker than ever.  He went life and death with a shell version of Bisping, and that was years ago.  No way he is the version that fought Fitch, and, there is a reason he made BJ come up, knowing the toll cutting so much weight will take.

Motivated!? Ha!  He is a motivated drug addict.

hahahaha yes! old new new old CRE is back...hope you're well sir

This.  GSP is goat.  And any version of him wrecks Connor and I’m a fan of Connor as well.

Why would GSP want to fight Mcdrunker? He does nothing for GSPs legacy...ZERO

tomtomthumb - Why would GSP want to fight Mcdrunker? He does nothing for GSPs legacy...ZERO
  1. It allows him to test the waters at 155 with one of the best possible style match ups.

  2. Easy money.

  3. Given 1 and 2, it allows him to decide whether he wants any part of Khabib at 155, which would hugely help his legacy. A win over Khabib at 155 ends all debate. GSP is the GOAT and nobody else has a claim to the spot.

The only reason is it’s a tune up gimme fight for GSP which he will get paid good money

GSP beats him worse than he'd beat Askren.

That is a synthesis of my three reasons. I agree.

It’s easy money, it’s a tune up fight, and it allows him to see whether he is ready and willing for a hard fight.
