Mighty Mouse’s request for a stacked card

So he even prefers to be co-main? So basically he is fine with riding on the coattails of others. He is pretty much saying he is not a draw, he knows he is not a draw, but wants to be compensated like someone who is a draw.

That’s not how it works, Mouse.

Least he’s transparent about it. It IS a genuine Superfight, unfortunately, one that likely nobody cares enough to part with money to watch on it’s own merit.

Only way he sees real money is on someone else’s coattails.

I wouldn’t pay a penny to see him fight. I can’t even sit through one of his fights if it’s on for free.

I think MM vs TJ is one of the greatest matchups in MMA. These are two of the absolute best fighters ever to compete.

The fact is that opinion is not held by the majority of MMA fans.

People can say his lack of size isn’t his fault, which it isn’t, but there is an equal benefit he gets from being that small.

At 125, there are extremely few one punch knockout artists. His small stature puts him in a weight division where he can get tagged, and not be KO’d it TKO’d, like Rockhold vs. Bisping.

He HAS a couple of times taken clean full shots to the head, and if it were in the MW division or heavier, he most likely would have lost due to those strikes.

That’s why Stipe has done what no other HW champion has done - defend the belt 3 times. That’s the record. 3 times. MM would not have successfully defended his belt so many times if he was taller and in MW or higher.

He should quit complaining and focus on what he can change.

How is it different than the Diaz brothers saying they will only take specific fights because certain fighters are bigger draws and make them more money? If it was all them, they’d fight anyone and make big money instead they’re “riding the coattails of their opponents no?

Didn’t that fool turn down the “super fight” with TJ because he claimed TJ could potentially struggle to make 125??? Even though fans would’ve paid to see it. And even though TJ didn’t have weight issues in the past.

Then turned around and fought a no-name that actually did have a history of missing weight???

I keep trying to like DJ… But he just bugs me the more and more he fucking talks.

DJ is not a draw and it's not entirely his fault. UFC PPVs are not draws anymore and that's not DJ's fault. He is smart to want to make money and should do what he can to get paid if he has any leverage. He doesn't have much though...

Not at all. He told the UFC he’d happily sign but wanted his show money and then some if TJ failed to make weight so he didn’t train for months for nothing. Get your shit straight.

If TJ and UFC felt TJ could make 125, which he’s never done before, they could have made the fight and the stipulation would have been a non issue. Odd they didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

This…really Conor is the only UFC draw now since Jones, Ronda, GSP, and Anderson are essentially gone. Hello, Bisping and Cormier can’t draw 300K without a formidable opponent.

Nobody draws anymore and that’s largely due to weak cards, rising PPV prices, poor promotion, USADA, etc.

I have no problem with him wanting this, and I hope the UFC accommodates him.

I think the the man who broke the title defense record and got submission of the year deserves whatever the fuck he wants.

A super fight as 3rd main event? Not that super then. They deserve to get paid but it shouldn’t bo on ppv points. Just give them a bonus for a champ v champ

He wants to be compensated for being the best, but he knows the only way to do that is by piggybacking off of a real draw. I have no issue with that, but I do think his comment re: "And I’m not trying to piggyback off anyone else" is horseshit.

Still want to see this fight though so hopefully it happens.

If there’s anyone who deserves it right now, it’s this guy.

he’s been the most dominant champ in his division, has been a company man until lately, and now just wants to get paid like everyone else.

I think he’s being very short sighted, this fight would give him way more credibility/casual fan recognition than any of his last title defenses that no one cared about, when your a big draw you can start making big demands but honestly right now other I have pretty much zero interest in whoever the next contender from his very shallow pool is.

the fact is this is twice he’s put barriers up to the TJ fight. Part of what made Conor so popular was his fuck it I’ll fight anyone attitude. He sort of reminds me of Ronda v Cyborg pre Holly when she was dominating her division but pretty much refusing the one fight her people wanted

As for wanting to be a co main, your pretty much acknowledging you can’t draw for shit even in a super fight against a big name.

keep holding out and get remembered as the champ with the long reign against nobodies that nobody gave a fuck about.

Beating TJ Dillishaw isn’t going to all of a sudden make him a big draw. Bisping couldn’t draw 300k buys with Hendo. Cormier can’t do over 300k without Jones. Woodley is in the same range. Stipe couldn’t donober 300k against former champ JDS.

Don’t act like beating an unknown (to casual fans) on a card no one sees is going to catapult him into superstar status

Stack a card with DJ VS TJ

I can’t wait to download this fight the day after.

He’s like a really smart confident kid. Such a little scamp.
