MMA in NY in 2011 - Act NOW

i seem to recall a number of huge threads detailing how it was not a lie, how you defrauded everyone by claiming your events were for charity and yet when we contacted st. judes (the alleged charity) they said they'd never heard of you.

this was also around the time when you made posters suggesting your events were uskba-sanctioned mma - much to the chagrin of paul rosner.

when this board was relatively new, it was much easier for you to get away with some of the outrageous things you tried to pull. but a decade of calling you out on your nonsense has yielded such fruit. such sweet fruit. now when you act up, some anonymous poster has a pic ready of you getting stomped in a san da match. keep going and i wager someone else will post the vid of that match, and someone else will post a pic of you gorging yourself on hamburgers.

These "huge threads" you talk about ended with scans of letters from St Jude thanking us (I was not the only promoter) for our contributions. I could post them again, but we know this is just diversion.

Jim you bank on people having short memories and taking whatever you say at face value, that at how stupid the internet is in general, yeah, post a picture of me eating a hamburger, I mean the fact I got drunk one night and ate a hamburger surely proves what you say is true!

Or, it proves you don't have much of substance to say.

Go ahead Jim, it's easy to find the hamburger pic... knock yourself out

Getting a letter for donations made from a later event is not the same thing as St Jude's knowing who you were at the time of the '01 show.  Nice try though.

P.S. You really ought to at least have the soccer moms in your 101 class wear shorts like self-respecting kickboxers.  Sweatpants are a sure sign that one has given up.

Edit: I take that back.  In the poster above, Mike Berry seems to be wearing sweatpants, and you seem to be the one giving up.

"These 'huge threads' you talk about ended with scans of letters from St Jude thanking us (I was not the only promoter) for our contributions. I could post them again, but we know this is just diversion."

your memory is cloudy. when we called st. jude to check on your charitable donations they said "who the fuck is david ross?" you produced a letter from st. jude only after you were caught red-handed and started ponying up the cash.

"Jim you bank on people having short memories and taking whatever you say at face value..."

that actually sounds like you. and if i were you, i'd abort whatever this mission is you're on, 'cause history tells us the longer you engage in these little arguments, the greater the chance that more of your SORDID past is dredged up. you probably want to avoid someone bringing up the whole "phatboy challenge-dicktuck" incident, no?

Maybe Dave wants to share the story about how he passed off his BJJ white belt lessons as the deadly anti-grappling program at Ventura's old gym.

TTT and let's not forget why we're here.

For Immediate Release:

Rally on February 8, 2011, to Legalize Mixed Martial Arts in New York State

NEW YORK, December 27, 2010 -- On Tuesday, February 8, at 12 noon a rally will be held for the support of legalized and regulated mixed martial arts in New York State*. We will gather at 250 Broadway, Manhattan, New York, 10007 (Across the street from City Hall).

This rally is being organized by the Coalition to Legalize Mixed Martial Arts in New York, a non-partisan volunteer group of organizations, gyms, business owners, and individuals who support the legalization and regulation of mixed martial arts in the state of New York.

In 2010, with the support of Governor Paterson and former Governor Pataki, legislation to legalize and regulate mixed martial arts was approved by the New York State Senate, but not the Assembly. We thus have chosen to rally at 250 Broadway, which houses the district office of Sheldon Silver, the Speaker of the New York State Assembly.

We ask that you bring picket signs (please keep your comments and images respectful and do not use metal, wood, or plastic rods to hold your signs - only use cardboard tubes to hold you signs), and, f possible, a pair of focus mitts. Please DO NOT bring any audio projection equipment.

"If you are a fan, fighter, gym owner, business owner, or organization official who wants to start the 2011 New York legislative calendar by letting our government know we want legalized and regulated MMA in New York, please come show your support! Let's gather together to show our legislators that New York is not respecting the wishes of its voters! Let's remind our legislators that MMA is a professional sport and in need of regulation! Let's remind our legislators how much business and how many jobs are lost to neighboring states where MMA is properly sanctioned! Let's remind our legislators that we care about the safety of our athletes! Let's remind our legislators that it is the people of New York who vote for them, and that WE WANT LEGALIZED AND REGULATED MIXED MARTIAL ARTS IN NEW YORK STATE!"
